A medical team at the Emergency Hospital in the new city of Sohag succeeded, during the past few hours, to save the lives of a 5 -year -old child, after suffering a window with a white weapon that penetrated the main heart and blood vessels, which put him in a very serious condition.

Dr. Hassan Al -Numani, President of Sohag University, said that the rapid and successful intervention reflects the advanced level of medical care provided by university hospitals, explaining that the operation was conducted using a surgical chest endoscopy, which is the latest of its kind in Upper Egypt, and contributed directly to saving the child’s life.

For his part, Dr. Magdy El -Qadi, Dean of the College of Human Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, explained that the case necessitated the formation of an emergency medical team from the surgical surgery of the Department of Cardiology and Chest and the anesthesia team, where the operation took place urgently to extract “folded”, stop the bleeding, and restore the affected tissues with high accuracy.

Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals, indicated that the emergency plan was activated upon the arrival of the child, while providing all necessary medical equipment and capabilities, which helped to intervene and save his life.

Dr. Essam Al -Badri, Head of the Department of Cardiac and Chest Surgery, stressed that the use of a surgical endoscope enabled the team to intervene with the least possible harm, and control of severe bleeding, noting that the child came out of the operating room in a very good condition, and he is now under observation and is recovered.

The medical team included the Department of Cardiology and Chest Surgery: Dr. Essam Al -Badri, Dr. Mohsen Saber, Dr. Ziyad Essam, Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Dr. Ahmed Osama, and the anesthesi team: Dr. Islam Al -Asiri, Dr. Dalia Ayman and Dr. Ahmed Ashour.
