Bhubaneswar, October 15 (IANS). Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a review meeting with officials from the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change and the Keonjhar District Administration at Lok Seva Bhawan. The establishment of the State’s Second Regional Plant Resource Center (RPRC) in Sanaghagara in the Keonjhar district was discussed at the meeting. This upcoming center is a dream project of Chief Minister Majhi, which is considered the second major biodiversity and research center of the state after the existing RPRC in Bhubaneswar. It will be developed in an area of approximately 134 hectares. According to officials, this center biodiversity conservation, eco-tourism, research, education and community engagement will promote. The proposed center has gardens -based gardens and nature experiences, where different orchid species, roses, bamboo, cacti and wild fruits from Odisha are displayed. Chief Minister Majhi has ordered this place to make a tourist attraction that remains open throughout the year. In light of the movement of elephants in the area, he aimed to prevent measures to prevent conflict in humans, such as the construction of deep trenches. There was also the emphasis on the conservation of the natural water flow of Machhakandana River to maintain ecological balance. The project will include Orchid Conservation and Display Center, Lotus Garden, Fern Garden, Wild edible Fruits Garden, Medicinal Plants Garden, Flower Market and Children’s Play Area. Materials such as local stone and wood are used in the construction. The government aims to complete this project by the year 2027.
