World Boxing Championship: Menakshi Hooda won gold in 48 kg category

Liverpool, September 14 (IANS). India won the second gold medal in the ongoing World Championships in Liverpool, England. Menakshi Hooda won the female second gold medal by winning the Women’s 48 kg final on Sunday. Jasmine Lamoria defeated Julia Szmmeta of Poland in the 57 kg category to give the country the first gold. The Haryana Star Boxer won his first gold medal in the World Championships by defeating the Naziran Kijebi of Kazakhstan in the morning session. Menakshi, a resident of the Rohtak district, won the gold medal by defeating the Paris Olympics Bronze Medalist Nazim Kizbe 4: 1. The 48 kg weight class of women is non-Olympics and will not promote their ambitions for the 2028 Olympics, but the world champion will be one of the world’s top cabin. Jasmine (57 kg) became the first Indian to win a gold medal at the 2025 World Boxing Championships held in Liverpool by defeating Szammeta of Paris Olympic 4: 1 in the final. Nupur (80+ kg) won the silver medal, among other things, while Pooja Rani (80 kg) won a bronze medal in this prestigious competition.
