Followed by different cultural activities, including the display of a typical ‘mandurua’ of traditional culinary production of glutinous rice and coconut milk, wrapped in banana leaves that symbolize unity and togetherness,” Akbar explained. Akbar, who is also the chairman of the Mandura Lebaran Committee, said that the traditions performed nine times continue to develop each year. Akbar has seen the impact of national cultural events such as Kampung Baru Fair 2025 and the Mandura Lebaran tradition. First, the importance of cooperation between the community and the government to maintain and preserve local culture as an integral part of national development. Secondly, Akbar hopes that support from the central government can further strengthen the existence of the New Fair and Mandura villages in the national arena and with its new status, this activity will be included in the national event calendar, which fully supports the government in terms of promotion, funding and cooperation with various stakeholders. “It is also expected to attract more tourists and cultural researchers to get to know more in the tradition that has been going on all this decade,” Akbar explained. Furthermore, Akbar invites all elements of society to continue to maintain the spirit of togetherness and mutual respect for differences that exist in the community. Akbar assesses that this activity has a strategic value to build up social harmony and strengthen national identity. All elements of this country, he continued, must create positive public spaces like this, where people can collect, share ideas and show the cultural wealth of unity, especially in the midst of increasingly complicated challenges. “Celebrating a decade of Fair Baru Kampung and the Mandura Lebaran tradition is clear evidence that local culture can be an important basis in development, strengthen identity and unite the community in diversity,” Akbar concluded.
