Jakarta – Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian MPR Lestari Moerdijat (Rerie) highlights the importance of raising parental knowledge about the fulfillment of family feeding. It is to support efforts to develop national human resources that are competitive in the future. “Attempts to open the ease of access to nutritious food to the community are a good step, but more than the family concept of the importance of fulfilling balanced family feeding is very important to realize,” Lestari said Saturday (9/8/2025). It is known that the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI) through the Health Development Policy Agency (BKPK) announced the results of the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) in May 2025. The target of the national medium term development was (RPJMN) reduced the incidence of stunting to 14.2%. That is, a decrease of about 5.6% is still needed. According to Lestari, efforts to improve family nutrition should be accompanied by an increasing understanding of mothers and parents in general related to the importance of balanced nutrition in the family. As a member of the House of Representatives Commission X of the Central -Java II constituency, he emphasized that the central role of women in the establishment of healthy living habits and the consumption of nutritious food in the family. In addition, he also reminded the importance of incorporating balanced nutritional education into the education curriculum, so that children from an early age understand the importance of a healthy diet. Furthermore, Lestari hopes that parents’ understanding of the importance of nutritious food can be supported by improving family welfare, so that knowledge can be significantly implemented in their respective homes.
