Why India's Seven Sists Must Worry About Muhammad Yunus Statement in China | Yunus conspired to 'play' against India, found such an answer; Will not forget forget
Muhammad Yunus is India: On Tuesday, leaders of various political parties reacted sharply to the recent comments made by Bangladesh Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus on the northeastern states of India and termed them as ’embarrassing’ and ‘inflammatory’. Pawan Kheda, head of the Congress’s Media and Publicity Department, shared a video clip of Younus on the social media forum ‘X’ on Monday.
What Nuus said?
Yunus appears in that clip saying that his country is the only patron in the Ocean (Bay of Bengal) as the northeastern states of India are surrounded by land and they have no way to reach the sea. He said that this will open ‘big possibilities’ and China should increase its economic influence in Bangladesh.
Yunus allegedly made these comments during his four -day visit to China. Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said on Tuesday that this is a ‘very serious issue’ and it is related to the ‘security’ of the nation.
He told PTI’s video service in the Parliament House complex, ‘This is a very embarrassing comment. He is referring to the areas of our country to carry forward the Chinese agenda. I think India should take a tough stand on this. This ends the security of the country.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma described Yunus’s remarks as ‘aggressive and highly condemnable’ and called for prioritizing the discovery of alternative routes connecting the Northeast to the rest of India, bypassing the ‘Chikans Nek’.
Sharma wrote on ‘X’, ‘The statement made by Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh, the so -called interim government is called the Seven Sisters States of North Eastern India as surrounded by land and Bangladesh as the patron of their maritime reach is aggressive and highly condemnable. Younus’s inflammatory statements should not be taken lightly, as they reflect intensive strategic ideas and long -term agendas.
At the same time, Congress leader Kheda said, ‘Bangladesh is inviting China to surround India. This attitude of the Bangladesh government is very dangerous for the protection of our North Eastern region. The government is not taking care of Manipur and China has already settled in the village in Arunachal.
Last week, the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh met Chinese President Xi Chinfing and demanded to increase investment from China to bring back the weak economy of Bangladesh, affected by the political and economic crisis.
A former Ambassador of India described these comments as ‘extremely unfortunate’, although he said that New Delhi should not be afraid of Younis’s statements. Venu Rajmani, who was the Ambassador of India in the Netherlands from 2017 to 2020, said, “There is no change in reality what India is today and what it is capable of doing … (India) is fully capable of protecting his security concerns.”
When asked about its impact on Indo-Bangladesh relations, Rajmani said, “In the context of bilateral relations, there is no sign of any major change in Bangladesh’s policy towards India.” (Input: PTI language)
