Waqf Amendment Bill is ‘Black Law’: Waris Pathan

Mumbai, March 2 (IANS). The political movement over the WAQF amendment bill is fast. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) describes it as the step of the poor and transparency of the poor, while all Indian Majlis-e-Outeshadul Muslimen (Aimim) and Muslim organizations describe it in contrast to the Muslim community. Aimim leader Waris Pathan and chairman of the Maharashtra state, Sameer Qazi, gave their opinion on the issue. Waris Pathan strongly opposed the Waqf Amendment Bill in a conversation with Ians. He described it as a ‘black law’ and said, ‘We completely reject this bill. BJP is trying to spread hate against Muslims and grab their property. ‘ Pathan called it against the Constitution, saying that it violated Articles 14, 24, 25 and 26 of the Constitution. He raised the question: “How to incorporate non-Muslim into the WAQF board? Will the Hindu Fegy Council place a place in the board? It clearly shows that the BJP’s intention is bad.” Pathan claims that the bill was brought not to save waqf, but to destroy. It is a conspiracy to tear mosques, cemeteries and Yatimakhans. Waqf is the Amanat of Allah, who was given to the poor and the priests. He said that crores of people object to the Muslim personal Legal Council website, yet the government is imposing it. Pathan warned that if the bill was approved, he would go to court and protest in a constitutional way. He also targeted the BJP colleagues Chandrababu Naidu, Chirag Paswan, Jayant Chaudhary and Nitish Kumar, saying that if these people support the bill, the Muslim community will never forgive them. Referring to the Babri Masjid run, Pathan said: “December 6 was our black day. If this bill passes, it will be equally painful. BJP talks about ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, but is aimed at Muslims.” Pathan also questions the proceedings of JPC (joint parliamentary committee). He said: “Our party president was in JPC. He gave disagreement notes, but he was removed. The discussion will reveal the truth that this bill is unconstitutional and religious. It will only be clear after voting in the lure or BJP allies.” Sameer Qazi, the new chairman of the Maharashtra State Waqf Council, responded to the bill. He said: “The bill is set up in the house today and there will be an eight -hour discussion. We hope it will make something good for WAQF.” Qazi said he met and proposed the Minister of Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, last week. The minister welcomed his proposals and gave the assurance that he would be included in the bill. Qazi refused to comment or not near the bill. He said the bill has not yet been approved, so “I can’t say anything. My suggestions are with the minister. It will only be clear after the discussion.” On the question of exceeding, he said: “As far as I have read, there was no change in Articles 52 and 54 of the bill.” On Premier Narendra Modi’s Eid Mubarakabad, Qazi said: “It’s a good message. This is the prime minister’s duty to think about the development of every citizen and community. If he does good steps, his acceptance will increase.
