The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and the Economic Offenses (EOW) investigation took major steps in the famous District Mineral Fund (DMF) of ChhattisGarh. 4 Government officials have been arrested from the Korba district. Police were arrested until May 13. These include the then DMF nodal officer Bharm Ram Thakur, the district’s CEO Bhuneshwar Singh Raj, CEO of Radheshyam Mirzha district and current CEO of Pathalgaon, Virendra Kumar Rathore. All of these have serious allegations such as crores irregularities, false payments, the issuance of amount without work and the amount withdrawed by showing it on paper. The state government has also made it clear that the culprits will not be spared and that the zero tolerance policy will be adopted against corruption. The arrested officers were produced in a special court in Raipur, from where they were sent to police custody until May 13. During the initial interrogation, the investigative agencies raised questions and answers to the four officers and received many important documents, bank transaction details, payment evidence. The investigation revealed that the development works paid never existed on the ground. IAS Ranu Sahu, who was filed in the central prison, is already being submitted in the central prison of Ias Ranu Sahu, Assistant Commissioner Maya Warrier, and NGO director Manoj Kumar Dwedi Raipur. Investigation by the Directorate for Enforcement (ED) revealed that commissions from contractors were recovered from 15% to 40%, which influenced the quality of the works. The court allowed Ranu Sahu to be questioned for 7 hours every day, and for this the investigative agency was given five days time. So far, Ed has attached assets worth more than Rs 23 crore so far. The investigative agency suspects that the officials and contractors as well as political personalities are also in collusion. In this case, attacks in Korba, Baikunpur, Balrampur, Janjgir, Bilaspur and Surajpur were carried out. He said the investigative agencies are constantly working to open each layer of scam. The basic goal of the DMF fund is to develop infrastructure in the affected areas and ensure the locals. But this scam asked questions about the government’s policy and monitoring system. After the scam pops up, there is anger among the general public and social organizations and there is a demand for transparent investigation and strict action.
