A video appeared on social media from which an injured Ukrainian soldier escapes an electric bicycle from Russian soil. The soldier, identified by the call sign “Tanker”, held the line for five days on position 360 near the front line in Siversk, in the Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region. Since the soldier was unable to vacate on his own due to injuries, he delivered a 40 kilogram electric bicycle with a drone directly to his position. In the video released by the Rubizh Brigade of Ukraine, a drone with a heavy lift can be seen that drops the electric bike directly into the tanker position. According to media reports, rescue efforts by Ukrainian powers were too risky, as Russian troops were placed on all fronts. “Our drones have covered us as well as possible from above,” Tanker said. “Then they threw two gas cylinders straight into our hole and a lighter. We caught fire. ‘ The escape occurred when the Russian forces launched deadly rocket attacks on Kyiv and killed at least 16 people. Mykola Hrytsenko, the staff head of the Ukrainian Brigade, said the land rescue is impossible due to the terrain and active fighting in the area. So his team devised an alternative: the 40 kg bike to help the soldier escape. The first two delivery efforts were unsuccessful as one drone was shot down, while another was overheated due to the weight. On the third attempt, the drone successfully delivered the bike to tanker, Hrytsenko added. “The enemy was in front, behind and on both flanks. Completely surrounded,” Hrytsenko said. Russian progress in Ukraine is accelerating Russia’s military progress in Ukraine that has accelerated for a fourth consecutive month in July, the largest since November, the news agency reports. In one month, the Russian army took 713 square kilometers from the Ukrainian area, while Kyiv regained 79 square kilometers. This led to a net profit of 634 square kilometers for Russia compared to 588 square kilometers in June, 507 square kilometers in May, 379 square kilometers in April, and 240 square kilometers in March.
