Jakarta – Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) together with Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya spent the weekend with students from Senior High School (SRMA) 33 South Tangerang, Banten. Gus Ipul arrived at 11.30 followed by lt.col. Teddy who came at Gus Ipul’s invitation. In fact, Teddy also had time to paint paintings on students’ canvases. “When they came in, the kids were really good at it, some of them could paint. Painting people is hard. Some of them could also paint Gus Ipul’s face, then the scenery, it was really good!” he said. Supri (16) is one of the students who has a talent for painting. Since he was in primary school, he could paint. Once he joined the People’s School, his talents and potential continued to be trained. On this occasion, Teddy also advised the principal and teachers to follow up on the results of the Talent DNA test. “Ask for help to continue to be trained and become skilled,” he added. To the students and students, Teddy also advised them to continue practicing and honing their skills. “Young students who have talent, whatever it is, as long as it is good and positive, continue to be trained and honed so that the talent they have can be channeled and become an opportunity and be used in the future,” he explained. Apart from that, Teddy also conveyed special greetings from President Prabowo. He also said that the President advised him to keep learning and be enthusiastic to achieve his goals. “I convey greetings from the President to the team of the Ministry of Social Affairs, including PKH companions, greetings to principals and teachers, foster carers and parents,” he said. Furthermore, Teddy had dialogue with several students. One of them is Salsa (15) who dreams of becoming a flight attendant. Then Bilqis Nufaiza (17) wants to become a doctor. Bilqis is also an example of a student who dropped out of school and was able to continue his education again thanks to the People’s School. “Those who don’t have dreams and aspirations, think about what they want to become, report it to their respective teachers,” said Teddy. Not to forget, Teddy also gave motivation to the People’s School students who had to live in the dormitory. He also told the story of when he was studying in high school. “My high school was also in a dormitory. I didn’t share the same house as my parents, I lived in a barrack and then I didn’t know any of my friends there, it wasn’t an easy thing. But since others could do it, I had to be able to do it too.
