Hooghly, September 25 (IANS). Extensive safety arrangements were made on the occasion of Navratri and Durga Puja in the Hooghly district of Western Bengal. The rural police in Hooghly District have made special preparations to make the festival safe and organized. Police Superintendent Kamnaasis said at a press conference that about 4500 puja pandals were erected in rural areas in the district, for which extensive measures for safety were taken. Police have given preference to the safety of women, and police arranged CCTV cameras in large places. Direct monitoring of 960 cameras will be done from the district police control room. In addition, the record of 10,630 cameras installed by the worship committees will also be available from the police, so that monitoring is ensured in each area. This step will be useful in the management and crime prevention of crime. Police superintendent said changes have been made in many places to smooth the traffic system. Traffic deduction has been implemented as a result of the ongoing construction work on Ramakrishna Setu of Arambagh. Information and notifications related to traffic are regularly shared on the Facebook page of Hooghly Rural Police. A unique initiative was taken this time for the ease of committed. Police have issued QR codes, which people will know by scanning which pandal is worshiped and what is the way to reach there. This facility will be important for managing congestion and the ease of passengers. To further strengthen safety, 70 police assistant huts were erected in the district, where people can get any help. In addition, special revolution arrangements have been made for the safety of children and senior citizens on the lines of Shravani Mela. Police have called on the people not to drive the vehicle by drinking alcohol and contact the police helpline number in any emergency. The security system has more than 300 senior officials, more than 500 constables and more than 4,500 traffic volunteers. These security personnel will remain active for 24 hours and maintain peace and order during the festival. Police Superintendent Kamnasis Sen expressed confidence that Durga Puja would be completed in a completely safe and systematic way this time.
