The congress accused the government of Haryana of abusing BPL card for votes
There was a political jerk in the state after the shocking figures of maps that lived under the poverty line on Tuesday during the Monsoon session under the poverty line. The Congress accused the BJP government of abusing BPL cards to influence voters before the election in Lok Sabha and the meeting of 2024. The case came to light when the Kalanwali Congress, Sharwala, sought details of the government. In his reply, Chief Minister Naib Singh Sainin told the house that between January 1, 2024 to July 31, 2025, 8,73,507 families were added to the BPL category, while 9,68,506 families were removed. Statistics also revealed that there were 52.37 Lakh families in the BPL category until 31 March 2025. However, by August 22, 2025, this number was quickly reduced to 41.93 Lakh families. The government said that according to official guidelines families with an annual income of more than Rs 1.80 lakh were excluded from profit. Rohtak Deepender Hooda’s Congress Member Member claims that there was a large number of ‘BPL for voice’ in the state. He claimed, “Just before the election in 2024, the BJP issued about 1 million new cards to locate voters, causing about 75% of the state of the state to go on paper under the poverty. After the election, after the election, these cards were canceled in the same rate.” He said that these 10 Lakh families are about 25% of the state voters. He said: “In the last election, the BJP defeated the congress with a margin of only 22,000 votes or 0.5% voice share. BPL increases the impartiality of the mandate in BPL cards.” Share this story -tags
