Uttar Pradesh was the Holy Land of Jain Tirthankars, Yogi Adityanath
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that Uttar Pradesh was a Holy Land of Jain Tirthankaras, in which Ayodhya is five and Kashi is the birthplace of a Tirthankaras. The chief minister said: “Lord Rishabhdev – the first Tirthankara and the king of Ayodhya were born here and the teachings of spirituality and meditation spread from this earth.” The event was organized by the Jain International Trade Organization (Jito). Navkar Mahamantra is the most reverent and universal mantra in Jainism. The Chief Minister also called the message given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by video conferencing of Vigyan Bhawan. He highlighted the nine resolutions shared by the Prime Minister to include Navkar Mahamantra in daily life and urged everyone to adopt him in emotion and behavior. While wishing Lord Mahavir Jayanti, the chief minister encouraged people to distribute the basic values of Jainism non-violence and compassion. As for the importance of Navkar Mahamantra, he said it was the way of three kinds of sad physical, divine and spiritual freedom. He said: “If individuals make contact with spiritual discipline, self -purposes and a sense of service to others, they promote their lives and inspire them society and the world.” “Their teachings and spiritual exercises provide a timeless example of living religious life. These principles of Jainism still have a deep relevance. Every Indian must take inspiration with them and include them in their daily lives.” The Chief Minister appreciates the grandeur of Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Day and said this is the first time the doctrine of Jainism is celebrated worldwide.
