Central government is committed to making the damage caused by floods in Punjab: Muralidhar Mohol

Moga, September 20 (IANS). The serious flooding in Punjab caused the greatest destruction of this century. This natural disaster engulfed more than 2000 towns and killed more than 57 people. The Punjab government left no stone unturned to deliver relief material to the flood victims, while the famous singers and social and religious organizations of Punjab also helped. Meanwhile, the central government has also accelerated the assistance operations by acting quickly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an air survey on September 9 on areas affected and visited Punjab himself and reviewed the situation. He announced a relief package of Rs 1.600 crore to assist the victims. In addition, the center ordered the Union ministers to visit the soil reality of flood -driven areas of Punjab. In this relief, the Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol visited a two -day to the towns affected in the Moga district. He was accompanied by the head of the Moga district BJP, dr. Harjot Kamal, Nihal Singh Wala’s lights in Charge SP Mukhtiar Singh Sandhu and other BJP workers. Muralidhar Mohol has visited the homes of the families influenced by the flood and heard their problems and compiled an extensive report that will submit to the central government. He said: “There was a great loss due to flooding in Punjab. Prime Minister Modi is committed to compensating this loss. The central government first sent a help of Rs 12,000 crore and now 1,600 crore.” He also took the issue of the construction of Kero Dam on the demand of the residents seriously, so that many towns can be saved from future flooding. Mohol said: “All the Union ministers were instructed to visit the districts concerned under the leadership of BJP National President JP Nadda. I have been in the areas of Moga for the past two days and try to bring every claim from residents to the center.” During this, Dr. Harjot Kamal, head of the Moga district, submitted a letter demanding the commissioning of Halwara Airport near Moga, on which the minister gave assurances to complete it soon.
