Religion What is the story of Tulsi Vivah? In Hindu religion, Tulsi Vivah is celebrated on Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of the Kartik month. It is a special religious festival that marks the association of the goddess Tulsi and Lord Vishnu. Tulsi is believed to be the incarnation of the goddess lakshmi. On the day of Tulsi Vivah, they were married to the Shaligram form of Lord Vishnu. On this day, the Tulsi plant is decorated like a bride. Mangalsutra, Red Saree and makeup are placed on her and then she is married to Shaligram or Vishnu Idol. According to a Hindu mythology, Tulsi Devi was earlier a dedicated woman named Frinda. Her loyalty to her husband Jalandhar was the source of Jalandhar’s power. The terror of Jalandhar is increasing, but its power was not limited. To kill Jalandhar, it was necessary to break the faithfulness of his wife Vreda. Lord Vishnu took the form of Jalandhar and he went before VRinda. Vrinda accepted Lord Vishnu as her husband and went to him. By touching another man in this way, Vreda’s faithfulness was broken. When Vrinda realized that she was deceived, she cursed Lord Vishnu to turn into Shaligram. God accepted this curse. After this, in sadness, Vrinda implicated herself in the fire. The first Tulsi plant grew out of its axis. Inspired by Frinda’s compassion and love, Lord Vishnu Tulsi Mata blessed the eternal union. He blessed Tulsi Mata that everyone would accept worship by offering her leaves and without them Lord Vishnu would not be worshiped. Tulsi marriage symbolizes this reunion of goddess and God.
