When Shahrukh Khan saved a person’s life at the Bachchan family’s Diwali party

Mumbai, October 20 (IANS). Bollywood’s Diwali parties are not limited to just glitz, expensive decorations and the playing of ‘Teen Patti’. They become a platform for the relationships, rivalries and sometimes even the true humanity of Bollywood’s biggest stars. Like every year, in 2019 too, the industry’s biggest Diwali gathering was organized at Amitabh Bachchan’s home ‘Jalsa’. On this night, while the whole of Bollywood was bathed in the glare of lights, a terrible accident was narrowly avoided. This is the story of that night when Shahrukh Khan became a true hero and saved a life in a terrible fire accident. Every big personality of the country was present at the Bachchan family’s Diwali party – every corner of the politics, sports and film world was present in ‘Jalsa’. Amid fireworks, laughter and music, countless rows of lamps were decorated in the courtyard. During the party, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s manager Archana Sadanand spoke to the guests. Meanwhile, her heavy and designer lehenga came in contact with a burning lamp kept in the courtyard. The lehenga was made of silk, so it caught fire quickly. Seeing this sudden fire, panic spread among the guests present at the party. When everyone was stunned, actor Shahrukh Khan showed agility and wisdom. Without a moment’s delay, Shahrukh quickly jumped towards Archana. He took off his jacket and immediately wrapped it around the burning lehenga. He tried to extinguish the fire until it was completely extinguished. In this process Archana Sadanand’s life was saved but Shahrukh Khan also got burnt in many places due to the fire. However, he did not tell anyone about this injury and ensured that Archana received immediate medical attention. The information about this bravery of Shahrukh Khan came to light the next day when filmmaker Farah Khan mentioned this incident in a tweet and affectionately titled Shahrukh as ‘Mohabbat-Man to the Rescue’. –IANS JP/AS Share this story Tags
