Great Journey of Shaan: Traveling from a Jingles singer to the bright star of Bollywood
Mumbai, September 29 (IANS). The name of Bollywood’s famous singer Shaan is among those who make their special identity in the music world. His voice gave a new direction, not only to the Hindi cinema, but also to the music of many languages. Shan’s singing started in a special way, which very few people know. He first sang for many ads instead of singing directly in films. It was his first step, which gave him a strong hold in the music world. There were many problems on this trip, but Shaan never gave up and today he is one of the most favorite singers of Bollywood. Shaan’s real name is Shantanu Mukherjee. He was born on September 30, 1972 in Khandwa City of Madhya Pradesh. He belongs to a Bengali family. He loved music since childhood. His grandfather Jahar Mukherjee was a famous lyricist, while his father Manas Mukherjee was a music director. As a result, there has been a deep attachment to music since childhood. He was only four years old when he started singing. At the age of just 13, the father’s shadow was raised from Shan’s head. In such a situation, he started working at a young age to help his family. Shaan started his career by singing Jingles for advertising. This period was very important to him, because Jingles recognized his voice and his singing got a platform. Many times his jingles became so popular that people began to recognize his voice. After this, Shaan began his career in Bollywood with the film ‘Parinda’ (1989). He was only 17 years old at the time and borrowed his voice as a singer in a song from the film. Later, Shan Rd gave the Remix version of Burman’s popular song ‘Roop Tera Mastana’ singing, which people liked a lot. This song gave him the chance to move even further in Bollywood. In 1999, Shaan’s career came to a golden turn when he sang the song ‘Musu Musu Hasi’ for the movie ‘Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi’. The song received a lot of love from the audience and was his first big hit. After this, he gave his voice in many films like ‘Lagaan’, ‘Saathiya’, ‘Fana’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’, ‘To Shanti Om’ and ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ was made very popular. Shaan sang songs not only in Hindi, but also in Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, Telugu, Kannada and many other languages. His versatility established himself as a multilingual singer.
