Where is Trending Death Sea? The lowest terrain in the world is a lake called Dead Sea, located between Jordan and Israel. The deceased sea is not a sea, but a lake. The water is so salty that a person can swim without dipping in it. It was called ‘Dead Sea’ because there is so much salt in it that fish or plants cannot stay. There is no sign of life here. It is located about 430 meters above sea level, making it the lowest place on the earth. The salt here is about ten times more salt than seawater. As a result, boats are not run and fishermen are seen here. The soil and water of this lake contain minerals such as magnesium, potassium and bromine, which are considered beneficial to the skin and body. This place is not only natural, but also of historical terms. Dead sea rolls were found here in the Kumran caves. There are many religious and historical sites near the deceased sea such as Masada, Jordan River and the baptism of Jesus. However, this lake is shrinking slowly.
