The big step of the Bihar Electoral Commission, which was launched e-sign, will not be able to withdraw from the voters list, know how to work?

Prior to the Bihar meeting 2025 election, the Electoral Commission (ECI) launched a new ‘e-sign’ function with an important step. The purpose of this initiative is to make the process of removing the name more transparent from the voters list and combating false applications. This step was taken by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi following the allegations of manipulation in the voters list. This new technology is available on the ECI’s Ecinet Portal and App, which will prevent the abuse of the Kieser -ID card. The decision came after the allegations earlier this year, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gaul Gandhi accused the Karnataka voters list of mass manipulation in the voters list. He claims that more than 6,000 false applications have been submitted to remove the names of voters. Earlier, he claimed ‘voting theft’, even after special intensive review (SIR) in Bihar. In response to these serious allegations, the Electoral Commission decided to strengthen the voter verification process, which led to the development and launch of the ‘e-sign’ function. This technique uses Aadhaar card and OTP to verify the voter identity, which ensures the integrity of the voters list. The new ‘e-sign’ function plays an important role in verifying the identity of voters. If a person registers for a new voter card, or applies to remove his name from the voters list, or to improve it, he will have to verify his identity through his Aadhaar card -linked cellphone number. This verification process will be very effective in preventing any false or unauthorized application. In addition, this system will also ensure whether the name of the applicant is already present in the voters list, which will reduce the chances of registration of the same person several times. How will the ‘e-sign’ function work? After introducing the ‘e-SIGN’ function, it is not possible to remove Form 6 (for new registration), Form 7 (to names) and Form 8 (for improvement) directly on the Ecint portal. To begin the application process, the applicant must first open the ‘e-sign’ function and submit its Aadhaar number. Thereafter, a one -time password (OTP) will be sent to the cellphone number connected to their Aadhaar. By entering this OTP, the applicant will be able to verify his identity. After the verification is successful, the applicant will be returned to the Ecinet portal to fill in the form. The rest of the process will remain the same as before. This whole process ensures that only the right person can apply for a change in the voters list. This step will not only make the voters list more safer and more reliable, but also increase the confidence of the ordinary people in the election process. It also shows the commitment of the Electoral Commission that it is willing to use modern technology to ensure transparency and fairness in the election.
