Kameshwar Dham is located in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that it is the same place called in the Shiva Purana, where Lord Shiva Kamadeva, the commander of the gods, consumed. Even today, there is half a, green mango tree where Kamdev was hidden and he ran a flower style to wake Bholenath with his deep fine. The story of Lord Shiva who consumed Kamadeva in Shiva Purana is as follows. Lord Shiva’s wife Sati is unable to carry the insult of her husband Bholenath in a Yajna arranged by her father and committing suicide by jumping into the altar. When Lord Shiva gets to know about this, he creates a riot in the universe with his orgy. All the gods that are upset about this reach him to convince the Lord Shankar. Mahadev, who was calm by his persuasion, came to this sacred confluence of Ganga and Tamsa for Param Pebbhi and is included in meditation. Meanwhile, Mahabali demon Demon Tarakasura Lord Brahma with his fine and he gets such a blessing that he can only die by Lord Shiva’s son. It was a blessing of immortality in a way, because Lord Shiva went to Sati’s self -immulation to Samadhi. As a result, the rise of Tarakasura is increasing day by day and begins to try to take control of heaven. When the gods get to know about this, they all worry and decide to arouse Lord Shiva with Samadhi. For this, they make Cupid a commander and surrender this work to Cupido. Cupid, who reaches Mahadev’s grave, tries to make Mahadev through many efforts, including the dance of Apsaras, etc., but all efforts go in vain. Eventually, Cupid itself hides behind the leaves of a mango tree and runs a flower style on Lord Shiva to wake Bhole Nath. The flower style is applied directly to the heart of Lord Shiva, and their grave breaks. Lord Shiva is very angry when his fine is dissolved and consumes Kamdev that stands behind the leaves of the Mango tree with his third eye.
