The head of the transitional phase in Syria, Ahmed Al -Shara, revealed that there are negotiations between Syria and Israel to reach a “security agreement”, according to which Israel withdraws from the areas it occupied after the fall of the Bashar al -Assad regime in southern Syria.
Al -Shara said, during an interview with the Syrian News Channel, that Israel considered the fall of the Bashar al -Assad regime as an indication of the end of the 74th agreement – in reference to the engagement agreement that followed the 1973 war between the two countries – despite the fact that Syria “expressed its commitment to the agreement after the fall of the regime.”
The Sharia indicated that Israel “had a divisional plan for Syria in the past, and was seeking to make it a field in its struggle with Iran,” adding that it “was surprised by the fall of the Bashar al -Assad regime.”
Al -Sharaa’s statements come a few weeks after a meeting of the Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al -Shaibani, with the Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, in Paris, to discuss the escalation of escalation and conditions in the Druze majority of As -Suwayda, after bloody violence in the province, according to the Syrian official media.
