On the order of the court, the state government will provide agricultural land to these families in two villages of Kanpur Dehat. The NGT ordered the eviction of 107 Hindu Bengali families who had built houses and farmed on the lake land in Nangla Gosai village of Mawana tehsil for the past 40 years and ordered them to vacate the land. While the court directed the state government to rehabilitate these families. Land for their rehabilitation was searched for a long time. The demand of these families is that along with housing, agricultural land must also be provided to them. Land was arranged for them in two villages of Kanpur Dehat. DM of Kanpur Dehat has sent the complete layout plan and land documents along with his report to the government. Meerut district administration says that these families will be sent to the said place once the government orders are received. These 107 Hindu Bengali families live in Ramgarh Bengali Basti in the lake country in Nangla Gosai village of Tehsil Mawana. It is claimed that he has lived and farmed here for 40 years. Their Aadhar card and voter card were made. There are also electricity connections. NGT ordered the district administration to vacate this land. But due to opposition, the land could not be vacated. On the appeal of these families, the court ordered the state government to rehabilitate them. Recently, Chief Secretary SP Goyal summoned the administrative officers of Meerut and Kanpur to Lucknow. Kanpur Dehat District Magistrate Kapil Singh sent a plan to the government for the rehabilitation of these families. According to which each family will get half an acre of agricultural land. A proposal has been prepared for allotment of agricultural land to 55 families in 11.1375 hectares of land registered in the name of the Rehabilitation Department in Bhaisayan village of Rasulabad tehsil and to 52 families in 10.530 hectares of land in Tajpur Tarsauli town. Land will be allotted to all these 107 families in a total of 21.6675 hectares of land in both the villages. Won’t leave here without getting farmland. Refused to leave here. Some time ago, a proposal was made to allot 200 meters of residential land to each family in Kharkhoda, but these families refused to leave without getting agricultural land. Ramen and Rohit Kumar, residents of Bengali Basti, said farming is our job. If we get land to live and farm we will move to Kanpur or any other district. Will not leave from here without getting farm land. He said half an acre of land is not enough for farming. District magistrate dr. VK Singh says that land is being arranged for the rehabilitation of these families at the government level. We have received a copy of the letter from Kanpur Dehat DM. As soon as instructions are received from the government, these families will be sent from here to Kanpur.
