Why was the poison given to trending Socrates? Socrates was a great philosopher of Greece, born 469 BC. I was in Athens. He was known for ideas based on morality, logic and knowledge. He used to teach the method of dialogue. Their method was to force people to think by asking questions. Socrates has challenged traditional religious beliefs, worship of gods and the perceptions that prevail in society through logic. He inspired the youth living in Athens to think independently, which caused the ruler of Athens and the elderly of society uncomfortable. Socrates criticized the policy of politicians and people in power, which led them to abandon the eyes of many influential people of Athens. 399 BC. He was accused of corrupting and deceiving the youth and did not regard the gods and goddesses of the state. Socrates were produced in the Athens Court. He refused to turn his view and said he was looking for the truth. The jury condemned him to death by drinking poison. He gets a poison called Hemlock to drink. His disciples introduced him to run away, but Socrates finds it appropriate to follow the law and principles. He drank poison and maintained allegiance to his mind.
