Farmer Leader Jagjit Singh Dallawal ends 132 days old fast

Chandigarh, April 6 (IANS). Jagjit Singh Dallwal had a promise to fight to open the front again at the right time for the rights of farmers, and Jagjit Singh Dallwal announced his 132 day until death. He said he would continue to lead the protests on the demands of farmers, including legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for crops. The announcement of the abolition of the fast that began on November 26 last year was announced by the convener of the United Kisan Morcha (non-politics) in Kisan Mahapanchayat organized by BKU (Siddhupur) in Fatehgarh Sahib District of Punjab, where a large number of workers of the United Kisan Morcha (Skm) supported. Dallwal, who arrived at a wheelchair at the venue, said: “I wanted to continue with the fast until all the 12 demands meet, but as more and more demands began to make, and I was asked to visit different states to organize farmers for national level battle for major issues related to agriculture, I decided to accept the appeals with the purpose of reaching the farmers.” He said that the question of MSP “will not be fulfilled in one day, but with long struggle” and it is necessary to provide farmers to economic freedom. That’s why I have to work hard for my future generations. ‘ This step to end the fast was taken by Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan a day after the appeal to Dallawal to end his fasting. Chauhan wrote on X, “Discussions about their demands between representatives of the Government of India and Boer organizations are underway.
