Washington [US]June 29 (Ani): Academy-winning actor and rapper Will Smith apparently referred to his notorious clap of Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars in a recent freestyle session. During a visit to British DJ Charlie Sloth’s ‘Fire in the Booth’, Smith clapped, if you talk your face on stage and respect me on stage, expect me on stage. “He continued,” Jokers chased it, crying when it’s time to take it/city full of rights was not raised to fake it, “as cited by People Magazine. The lyrics appear to be referring to the incident during the 94th Academy Awards, where Smith walked on stage and clapped rock after the comedian joked about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s, Shaved Head. Rock said, ‘Jada, I love you. Gi Jane 2, can’t wait to see you, “citing the movie Gi Jane, in which the character of Demi Moore shaves her head. Pinkett Smith was open about her battle with Alopecia. After the blow, Smith issued a public apology to Rock saying: “Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive. My behavior at the Academy Awards last night was unacceptable and inexcusable.” Smith resigned from the academy and was forbidden to attend their ceremonies for ten years. This is not the first time Smith has referred the incident in his music. His recent album, ‘Based on a True Story’, contains lyrics that apparently refer to the clap. According to People Magazine, in one cut, he is about being “canceled”, while another voice says: ‘He and Jada are both crazy, girl, what are you talking about?/ You better keep his wife’s name out of your mouth.’ (Ani)
