Why spread "deep falsifying" cuts? Can it be stopped?

The Internet is filled with “Deepfakes” content – be it a sound, photos or videos made with artificial intelligence instruments – where people seem to say things or do what they don’t say or do, or they are in places where they were not, or their appearance changes. Some include what is known as ‘digital nudity’ as the images are adjusted to show someone without clothes. Other “deep forgery” is used to deceive consumers, or to harm the reputation of politicians and other public figures. Artificial intelligence is easy to create a ‘deep forged’ with only a few clicks on the keyboard. Governments are eager to confront this phenomenon, but the struggle appears to be losing, as attempts to use “deep forgery” over the past three years have increased by more than 20 times, according to the data of the ‘signicat’ identity enterprise. What measures have taken to combat ‘deep forgery’? On May 19, US President Donald Trump signed the law “Take it Download”, which criminalizes the non -consensual pornographic materials using artificial intelligence, also known as “pornographic revenge”, and obliges their social media companies to remove these explicit sexual images on request. Last year, the US Federal Communications Committee made the use of artificial intelligence votes in illegal automated calls. This prohibition came two days after the committee issued a ‘stop and stop’ against the company responsible for “deep audio discharge” by President Joe Biden. The residents of New Hamposher received an automatic call before the presidential preliminary election in the state, in which the vote was a voice of Biden, and urged them to stay in their homes and “keep their votes for the November election.” The European Union AI law obliges platforms to place signs that the content is the product of ‘deep forgery’. China applied similar legislation in 2023. On April 28, the British Government’s Children’s Affairs commissioner asked a large “digital nudity” application online. Where did ‘deep forgery’ report in the news? Photos of ‘deep forgery’ spread to pop star Taylor Swift, widely on social media in January 2024, angered her fans and pushed the White House to express his concern. During the US presidential election in 2024, Elon Musk shared a propaganda video using “deep forgery” in which a modified voice using artificial intelligence of the democratic candidate, Kamala Harris, without the video being decorated as misleading. In the video, she seemed to describe the president, Joe Biden, as “the difference” and says that she does not know anything about the management of the country. ‘The video has won ten millions of views. In response, California Governor Gavin Newsum promised to ban digitally modified political “deep forgery” and was legally signed in September. How can you make videos using ‘deep forgery’? It is often produced using an artificial intelligence algorithm trained to identify patterns in real video recordings of a specific person, a process known as “deep learning”. Then it becomes possible to replace an element of a video, such as the person’s face, with another content without appearing as a superficial mounting. These amendments are more misleading if you use them with ‘healthy cloning’ techniques, which analyze a person’s sound clip that speaks with very small sound parts compiled again to form new words that are the original video speaker. How did ‘deep forgery’ spread? This technology was initially the preservation of academics and researchers. In 2017, however, the ‘Motherboard’ platform of the ‘Vice’ website reported that a reddit called ‘Deep Fix’ created an algorithm to make fake videos with an open source blade. ‘Reddit’ banned this user, but the practice spread quickly. In the beginning of it, deep forgery technology needed a real video and real audio performance, as well as advanced editing skills. Current obstetric intelligence systems allow users to produce convincing images and videos through simple written orders. Ask a computer to create a video that puts words in a person’s mouth, and it will definitely see you. How can you get to know ‘deep forgery’? This digital forgery has become more difficult to discover, with artificial intelligence enterprises using new instruments on a large amount of material available on the Internet, from YouTube to stored photo and videotbibling. Sometimes clear signs indicate that a picture or video of what was created using artificial intelligence, such as a party that is not a place, or contains a hand with six fingers. Difference in colors can occur between the modified and modified parts of the image. Sometimes the mouth movement does not match the speech in the tracks of “deep forgery”. Artificial intelligence may have trouble providing precise details of elements such as hair, mouth and shadows, and the edges of the bodies can sometimes be coarse or visible pixels. But all this can change with improving basic models. What are the most prominent examples of using ‘deep forgery’ technology? In August 2023, Chinese promoters released modified photos of forest fires on Maui -Island in Hawaii to support the allegations that these fires were caused by a secret ‘air’ weapon test by the United States. In May 2023, US stocks fell shortly after a photo on the internet showing the Pentagon as if it were burning. According to experts, the false image has production functions using artificial intelligence. In February of the same year, a false sound appeared in which he appeared as if Nigerian presidential candidate Atiko Abu Bakr was planning to falsify the election in that month. In 2021, a single video clip was posted on social media, showing Ukrainian president Voludmir Zellinski, as if calling his soldiers to throw weapons and surrender to Russia. There are other harmful ‘deep’ shapes, such as those showing soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo while singing Arab poems. What are the dangerous dimensions associated with this technology? Fear lies in the “deep forgery” trips to become so convincing to make it impossible to distinguish between what is real and what is false. Imagine manipulating fraudsters by producing counterfeit videos from managers who make updates related to their businesses, or false cuts of soldiers committing war crimes. Politicians, business leaders and celebrities are some of the most vulnerable, given the large number of recordings available for it. The “deep forgery” technique also provides a ‘porn -waist’, even in the absence of any real image or video of the person, and it is naked, and women are often targeted. Once the video is spread on the internet, it becomes almost impossible to contain it. The report of the UK’s Children’s Affairs Commissioner issued in April emphasized the increase in the fear of children that they would be the victim of a scandalous “deep forged” content. Additional concerns will facilitate the spread of awareness of ‘deep forgery’ of people who appear in records and they say whether they are rejecting or doing illegal business, that the evidence against them is false, as some people have already begun to use the defense of ‘deep forgery’ before the courts. What other measures can be taken to reduce the spread of “deep forgery”? It is impossible to have the type of automatic leather used in the production of “deep forgery” to prevent false cuts. But a small number of startups like Sensity AI in the Netherlands and “Sentinel” in Estonia work to develop techniques to detect false cuts, as well as very important technological enterprises in the United States. Companies, including Microsoft, have promised to include digital watermarks in the images they manufacture with their artificial intelligence instruments, to distinguish it as a false content. Openai, the GBT, has developed techniques to detect the images produced with artificial intelligence, as well as a way to add watermarks to the texts, but the last technology is not yet offered, partly because it is easy to circumvent it.
