With the knowledge of Rimba Raya, the first RedD+ project in the world is ratified 17 SDGs

Jakarta – Since the establishment in 2008, Rimba Raya Conservation has been present as an important milestone in the mitigation of climate change. By restoring the ecosystem, this program focuses on efforts to create a powerful community, healthy forest and an interviewed climate. The vision is to maintain sustainable forest functions as a form of climate mitigation and an ecosystem balance. Meanwhile, the mission exported includes forest protection, the function of trees and peat as carbon yields, and maintaining the sustainability of the ecosystem for the surrounding community. The Rimba Raya Restoura area occupies 36.953.77 hectares in Seruyan Regency, Central Calimantan. This region is directly next to the Tanjung that sits the National Park and is a home for more than 600 types of flora and fauna, including 100 animals in the IUCN red list. More than 1,000 residents in eight towns received access to clean water with a production capacity of 2000 liters per day. Km Bajenta Floating Clinic also serves 2 800 patients with an exchange system of tree seedlings or trash each year. Rimba Raya also encourages community waste management by Surya Harapan Waste Bank. From 2014 to 2022, 46 tonnes of garbage were collected.
