Ahmedabad plane crash, 10 victims, most of which of the crew, Maharashtra
Mumbai, officials on Friday said at least ten people aboard the Air India flight to London of Maharashtra, one of whom is pilots and crew members. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft along with 230 passengers and 12 crew members crashed at the Medical College premises shortly after flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon. An official said that one person survived in the accident, while 241 people were killed on board the plane, ten from Maharashtra came. He said the pilot of aircraft pilot Sumit Pushkarraj Sabharwal was a resident of Jal Vayu Vihar in Powai area in Mumbai and lived with his elderly parents. According to his social media account, flight co-pilot Clive Kunder was a resident of the western suburbs of Mumbai. The cabin crew Deepak Pathak lived in Badlapur in the neighboring Thane district. Pathak’s sister said earlier that she was talking to her mother before she went to London. He said he was working in Air India for 11 years. Another crew member Maithili Patil was a resident of the Nhawa village in Navi Mumbai. Patil joined Air India two years ago and her father Moreshwar Patil is a labor contractor in Ongc. A former Nhawa Sarpanch said Patil spoke to his father before going to London and promised to call him when he reached the city. Another crew member Aparna Mahadik was a resident of Goregaon in the western suburbs and her husband also works as a crew member in Air India. She was a relative of NCP leader Sunil Tatkare. Roshni Rajendra Songre and Sainita Chakraborty were both residents of Dombivali and Juhu Koliwada respectively. Songs were also a travel influence with more than 54,000 followers on Instagram.
