Wonderful confluence of poetry, drama and satire in the creation of Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena

New -Delhi, September 22 (IANS). There are some creators in the Hindi literature, of which the writings include the colors of poetry, drama, satire and children’s literature together. Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena was such a personality whose compositions had the power to keep sensations, experience and society’s heartbeat with words. Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena, born September 15, 1927 in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, left his indelible impression in the Hindi literature. After his early training in Basti, he did his mother of Intermediate of Queens College, Banaras and mother of the University of Allahabad. The literary atmosphere in Allahabad gave a new direction to his writing. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a distributor in the AG office, but creativity was in his veins. He became an assistant editor in the Hindi News Department of All India Radio in Delhi, but in the literature Rama. In 1964, at the insistence of ‘Agnayya’, he joined the magazine ‘Dinman’. Here his column ‘Charache and Charkha’ won the hearts of the readers with a unique way of satire and social commentary. Sarveshwar’s poems became part of the ‘New Kavita’ movement and joined the ‘third Saptak’. His compositions used to do love, pain and socio-political issues. Poems like ‘to stay with you …’ still make readers emotional. His play ‘Bakri’ made the government uncomfortable in the emergency with a sharp political satire, which was forbidden. Now playing like ‘remove poverty’, Hawala, and ‘fight’ brought the stage alive. Sarveshwar’s contribution to children’s literature was also precious. Compositions such as ‘Batuta Ka Shoe’ and ‘Mahangu Ki Tie’ are still included in children’s books. In 1982 he became the editor of the magazine “parags” and remained until the end. In 1983 he received the Sahitya Akademi Award for the collection of poems ‘Khuntis on the Khuntis’. Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena passed away on September 23, 1983.
