World Junior Rankings: Himanshi Tokas became the first Indian to assure the top position

Mumbai, September 19 (IANS). Himanshi Tokas created history in judo. She reached the first place in the world in the 63 kg of weight category women on the junior world rankings. She became the first Indian judoka to achieve the history of this game. In the 57 kg of weight category women, Shaheen Rajbhai Darjada of India is in fourth place. This is the first time that two Indian athletes are one of the top five in their respective weight category. Himanshi, who jumped three places on the list, is the highest point with 610 points. Indian judocations received a great lead in the world rankings released by the International Judo Federation (IJF). In collaboration with Reliance Foundation, 20 -year -old Himanshi reached the top of the rankings after her victory in the Asian Junior Championships 2025 last week (September 13). It was his third title this year. Earlier, he won first place in his weight category in Taipei Junior Asian Cup 2025 in July and won Casablanca Afal in January. Himanshi has so far won gold medals in five competitions, one continental championships, three continental cup competitions and a continental Open championship. In the senior category, Himanshi is 61st with 611 points in the Women’s 63 kg category in the world rankings. Among the 57 kg category women, Shaheen Rajbhai Darzada of India is fourth place after Rico Honda of Japan, Mishla Terranova of Italy and Bianka reception in Brazil. Shaheen has 442 points and has won three gold medals and a bronze medal so far this season. Shaheen won gold medals in the Asian Junior Championships 2025, Macau Junior Asian Cup 2025 and Taipei Junior Asian Cup 2025. In May this year, he was third in Tashkent Junior Asian Cup. Hamantatan Nungashithoi Chanu Lishangathem is 12th place in the 52 kg category. Among the senior players, bronze medalist Tulika Mann, the Commonwealth Games, is in 75th place in the +78 kg category, which benefited one place this week, while Shraddha Kadubai Chopde is 53rd in the 52 kg category women.
