World-Rabies Day Theme Special, who told everyone’s participation.

New -Delhi, September 21 (IANS). This year, on September 28, the 19th World Dolness Day is celebrated. This time the theme is ‘acting now: you, me and community’. That is, everyone must experience this illness intelligently together. According to the WHO, the word ‘rabies’ was not included in the theme of the world’s rabies day for the first time in 19 -year history. The organization believes that this theme itself shows how good the movement has become. Whether you are a person, part of an organization or a decision on a decision, is the time to “act” today. This theme was also carefully explained by the World Health Organization. The ‘U’, ie ‘monkey’, means inspiration to take some important steps themselves. It is said that your dog can be vaccinated, must be aware of the prevention of rabies and the prevention of infection from it, or better advocate. If a pet or a stray animal (cat, monkey or dog -like animal) is scratched, it was immediately with soapy water and then goes to the hospital and receives immediately treatment against rabies. The second word is ‘mi’, ie ‘I’. It gives the message that it is my responsibility or duty to make people around me aware. Tell them what to do after cutting and what are the facilities in hospitals? ‘Community’ or community means running awareness campaigns in the town/environment, teaching children in schools, meeting veterinarians and government health centers to ensure vaccines, immunoglobulin, etc. When talking about India, rabies remains a serious problem with public health. In 2024, more than 2.2 million dogs bite was reported in the country and more than 5 lakh other animal bite cases were reported. About 20% of these cases were of children under the age of 15. The country’s government promotes ‘one health approach’ for the prevention of rabies, in which cooperation between human, animal and environmental health takes precedence. The government of India set a target by 2030 to create ‘rabies-free India’, and for this, vaccination, sterilization and awareness campaigns are highlighted under the National Rabies Control Program (NRCP). Taking an animal attack lightly may not be bravery, but negligence. A recent painful event sheds light on it. 22 -Year -old Brajesh as long as a Kabaddi player of the state, who lived in the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, removed a puppy from the drain in March 2025. During this time, Pillay bit him, but Brajesh considered this bite a minor and did not consider a treatment of an anti -rebian. Because of this unfortunate decision, when symptoms emerged (fear of water, breathing problems, etc.), it was too late. Treatment could not be possible and died on June 28. This makes it clear that the animal may be small, but the attack cannot be ignored. Timely treatment is needed. -Ians kr/
