Following is World Tourism Day 2025 The theme of World Tourism Day 2025 begins the Kemenpar and Unwto websites, World Tourism Day 2025 carries the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” or “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”. This theme was considered a reminder of tourism, not only as a growth machine, but also a forum for fair development, cultural conservation and heritage, protection of flora and fauna, environmental integrity and the resilience of the community. Tourism has the potential as a means of positive change. Tourism is not only the economic sector, but also a catalyst for social progress, education, employment and creation of new opportunities. The following is the message of the UN Secretary General António Guterres for World Tourism Day, which will be commemorated on September 27, 2025. Tourism is a strong transformation management. It creates employment, encourages local economies, supports infrastructure and contributes to the development that is far beyond gross domestic product (GDP). Tourism strengthens the ties between people and between regions. Tourism builds a cross -cultural bridge, retained tradition and the restoration of cultural heritage. Tourism reminds us of our shared humanity and diversity wealth. But tourism can also damage the place and the community that celebrates it. If the world faces climate damage and increased gaps, we need brave, urgent and sustainable actions that prioritize people and planets. This year’s theme – “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” – invites us to act. This means investing in education and skills, especially for women, youth and marginalized communities; support micro, small and medium businesses; and promoting climate actions by reducing emissions in the tourism sector, preserving biodiversity and protecting fragile ecosystems. Let us benefit today, and every day from the power of tourism as a power for transformation, resilience, sustainability and mutual progress for all. (KNY/ZAP)
