There is no justification for the attack on Iran without provocation: Putin

Moscow, June 24 (IANS). Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday there was no basis or justification for military aggression without provoking Iran. He made this remark during a meeting with the Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Aragchi, who visited Russia. Putin told Aragachi: “Your visit to Russia takes place in a difficult time when your country and the entire region have serious tensions. Our situation is clear, which has been repeatedly repeated in the Russia’s Foreign Ministry and United Nations Security Council.” Putin said that Russia and Iran have old, strong and reliable relationships and Russia is actively working to support the Iranian public. Foreign Minister Aragachi said the relationship between the two countries is of strategic nature, which has grown stronger over the past few years, especially in the area related to the core program of Iran. Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that despite any argument, rocket attacks and bombing on the land of a sovereign country is a serious violation of international law. It is an open violation of the proposals by the United Nations Security Council and Security Council. The ministry demanded action from the United Nations Security Council, saying that the aggressive actions of the US and Israel should be combined jointly. Russia asked to stop the attacks immediately and restore talks. Earlier Monday, Iran’s highest leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded to the American attacks and warned Israel that “the punishment would continue.” He wrote on social media platform X, “Israeli enemy made a big mistake, made a big crime. He is punished and given.” Let us know that on June 13, Israel attacked several atomic and military bases in Iran and killed senior commanders, scientists and citizens. After this, the conflict between the two countries continues. At the same time, on June 22, the US carried out missiles and air strikes under the ‘Midnight Hammer Operation’ at three major core bases in Iran. In response, Iran launched missiles and drone attacks on Israel. -Ians DSC/EKD shares this story -tags
