He described it as an ‘excellent achievement’. Premier Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “excellent achievement. Congratulations to Vaishali Rameshbabu. His passion and dedication are exemplary. The best wishes for his future efforts.” Vaishali Rameshbabu on Monday secured the win in the tournament by stopping former female world champion Tan Zongyi at a draw in the finals. Both Vaishali and Caterina Lanno scored 8 points, but Vaishali got an edge in the draw, which was declared the winner. This is his second big Swiss victory. With this, the Grand Master Vaishali Rameshbabu registered her name in history by becoming the first Indian to successfully defend the FID -FIG -female Grand Swiss title.
