Youtuber Stress Tests Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 with 2,00,000 folds here is breaking and who survived
Samsung was one of the early entries of foldable technology when it rolled out the first Z fold in early 2019. Nearly seven years since then, the Korean smartphone manufacturer launched its Z Fold 7 last month with the promise to be the thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable smartphone to date. One of the biggest fear of adopting a foldable device is the durability of the hinge. Samsung officially states that the Z Fold 7 has been tested for folding and unfolding 5,00,000 times – more than double the 2,00,000 folds it promised with the Z Fold 6. To put it in perspective, if the figure does, it must take about ten years when the phone is folded 100 times a day, and over 6 years if it folds 200 times a day. But have you ever wondered if the claim actually stopped – and whether the phone did any other damage during the alleged fold cycle? Well, you are definitely not alone. One Korean Youtuber of the Channel Tech It was very close to testing Samsung’s claims by folding and unfolding the Z -fold 7 by hand of five days. How did the Z Fold 7 stop during the actual test? The YouTuber found that a ‘rechargingout’ appeared during the first 6,000 to 10,000 folds – and this error repeated after about every 10,000 folds. About the 46,000-fold mark, the Z Fold 7’s hinge started making some cracking noises, although the phone still worked as intended. The Samsung device started shockingly enough to lick an unidentifiable ‘black fluid’ from the hinge, which later disappeared. The liquid appeared again around the 1,05,000-fold mark, when the crease on the Z-fold 7 also deepened. A more on issue appeared around the 1.75,000-fold point when the speakers of Z Fold 7 inclusive the top, bottom and overpiece kept up. The YouTuber also noted that the hinge became noticeably smoother and that the elasticity of the folding mechanism was lost. Despite this hiccup, the Z Fold 7 actually reached the 2,00,000-fold milestone. The inner show showed no dead pixels, the touch response remained accurate, although the crease became much more outspoken.
