ZA DLC Leak Hints At New Mega Evolution Z Forms

A new Pokémon Legends: ZA leak regarding the Mega Dimension DLC has just been shared, highlighting that a wild theory about Mega Evolutions may actually be true. The new Generation 9 title has just been released, and while the Mega Dimension DLC’s story content will only become available in early 2026. While it’s still a while away from arriving, there have been new leaks about the expansion.

Nor reported by Centro Leaks on X there will be plenty of new Mega Evolutions added to the game with the Mega Dimension DLC, on top of the known Raichu X and Raichu Y forms that were announced alongside the expansion pack’s reveal. The list highlights new Mega Evolution forms for creatures like Chimecho, Staraptor, Meowstic, Scovillain, Tatsugiri, and even Baxcalibur, for example.

Pokémon Legends: ZA DLC Leaks Hint At Mega Evolution Z Forms

Creatures With Mega Evolutions May Get Yet Another Form

The most exciting part of this leak, however, lies within the prospect of brand-new Mega Evolution forms for creatures that already have Mega Evolutions. According to the leak, Absol, Garchomp, and Lucario are all getting new Mega Evolutions with the DLC – and they will allegedly be called Mega Evolution Z forms, which is a fitting name considering the game’s title.

Before the game was released, I talked about how it would be great if Pokémon Legends: ZA revisited creatures with Mega Evolutions, granting them X and Y forms, or perhaps even a Z form. It seems like that has been within Nintendo’s plans for a while, if the leak proves to be accurate. Mega Absol, Mega Garchomp, and Mega Lucario all exist, but having new Mega Evolutions for them is particularly exciting.

Fan-Favorite Pokémon May Get New Mega Evolutions In Legends: ZA

Mega Evolutions May Change Certain Pokémons’ Typings

These three Pokémon, rumored to have new Mega Evolution Z forms in the Mega Dimension DLC, are all fan-favorite creatures, so seeing them get new forms, even at the cost of other Pokémon, may be great for some fans. While it’d be great to see a Pokémon like Typhlosion get a Mega Evolution so as to complete the Johto starter trio, I’m happy that Lucario and Garchomp are getting new gameplay possibilities.

Aside from the rumored Mega Evolution Z forms, there are some fan-favorite creatures cited in the leak. This includes Staraptor, Golurk, Golisopod, Magearna, Glimmora, and Baxcalibur. With the possibility of seeing them change their typings and overall design with Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: ZAthese fan-favorite Pokémon may get even more popular.

For now, however, it’s best to keep your expectations in check, as the datamined leak may be incorrect or subject to change. The DLC only arrives in 2026, so there’s still time for Nintendo to change things. Moreover, the prospect of these new Mega Evolutions may be more exciting than the new forms themselves, as some of them may prove to be a disappointment, as was the case with Mega Dragonite and Mega Greninja in Pokémon Legends: ZA.
