Apple records strongest-ever year in India on iPhone sales surge – Firstpost

Apple posted record-breaking sales in India, marking its strongest year in the country, driven by the launch of the iPhone 17 series, which fuelled a surge in demand nationwide.

According to a report, exchange data reveals that the Cupertino-based tech giant’s shipments in the country grew significantly in 2025, helping it expand exchange share in what is now the world’s second-largest smartphone trade by volume.    

Apple shipped at least 152 million units in India, making it the largest smartphone trade.

Citing exchange data from bazaar intelligence firm Counterpoint Research, TechCrunch reports that Apple’s iPhone shipments in India rose sharply in 2025, driving its market share to a record 9 per cent, up from about 7 per cent in 2024.

This marks the finest annual performance for any smartphone in India till date. With higher export in India, one more Apple store opened in Noida, seeing skyrocketing sales.  

Industry analysts reportedly attribute this growth to several factors, including an expanded product portfolio that spans from the latest iPhone 17 series to last year’s iPhone 16 series and the non-flagship iPhone 16e.  

Meanwhile, the data shows that India’s overall smartphone shipments remained flat at around 152–153 million units in 2025.

According to the IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the tech giant has produced a recent switch of shipping made in India iPhone models worth $50 billion in total.
