Pacer Arshdeep Singh was rested for the third T20I between India and New Zealand in Guwahati along with leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy, with Jasprit Bumrah returning to the XI after being rested in Raipur and Ravi Bishnoi getting his first game of the series. Captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to field, with Team India aiming to clinch the five-match series on Sunday after winning the first two matches by 48 runs and seven wickets respectively.

For Bishnoi, Sunday’s fixture at the Barsapara Stadium is his first for the Men in Blue in a year, with the wrist spinner having last represented the Indian mannschaft in the fifth T20I against England on 5 February last year. He had been included as a last-minute replacement for spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar.

The Men in Blue have fielded a different playing XI for each competition so far in the T20I series against the Black Caps, bringing pacer Harshit Rana and left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav for Bumrah and left-arm finger spinner Axar Patel in the second T20I in Raipur.
New Zealand, like India, have opted for a different XI for each game in this series, bringing Kyle Jamieson in place of Zak Foulkes – who had leaked 67 runs in three wicketless overs in Raipur on Friday.
