A disciple of sitar maestro Purbayan Chatterjee, Mumbai-based Megha Rawoot has emerged as one of the most compelling global collaborators from the Indian classical space. Her recent work includes sitar contributions to Ed Sheeran’s international album PLAY, performances with Jon Batiste, and a landmark appearance alongside Shawn Mendes at Lollapalooza 2025, introducing the sitar to one of the world’s largest global pop audiences.

One of Megha’s most widely shared cultural moments came when a video of her teaching Ed Sheeran how to play the sitar surfaced on social media, symbolising a larger shift in how Indian classical instruments are entering mainstream global pop conversations.

Alongside her international career, Megha remains an integral part of PAAMF as both student and instructor, embodying the foundation’s philosophy of continuity and mentorship.

“Indian classical music carries a universality that speaks across cultures,” says Megha Rawoot . “UTSAAH allows us to pass that understanding directly to the next generation of musicians.”

The Mishra Brothers: Tradition Meets Contemporary Expression

Led by sitarists Abhishek Mishra and Shivang Mishra, The Mishra Brothers Collective is known for blending acoustic and electric sitar to create performances that move seamlessly across classical, fusion, and contemporary genres. Both brothers are National Scholarship holders from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, while Shivang Mishra is a B-High graded artist with All India Radio (AIR).

“Our aim has always been to let the sitar speak in today’s language without losing its soul,” says Abhishek Mishra . “ UTSAAH reflects the ecosystem every classical musician needs guidance, collaboration, and a shared stage with the next generation.” Shivang Mishra added.
