India to Launch Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication System to Curb Accidents| Vantage with Palki Sharma

India is preparing to introduce vehicle-to-vehicle communication technology to reduce road accidents and fatalities. The system, known as V2V, allows vehicles to exchange real-time information such as speed, direction and braking activity without relying on internet or mobile networks. Officials plan to roll out the technology by the end of the year, starting with latest vehicles. In 2024, more than 1.7 lakh people were killed on Indian roads, many due to delayed reaction times and poor visibility. The government will allocate dedicated radio spectrum, while concerns remain over mixed traffic, two-wheelers, and data security.
