India vs New Zealand Live Score 3rd T20: Suryakumar and Co aim to seal series – Firstpost

India vs New Zealand Live Score 3rd T20: India and New Zealand are in Guwahati on Sunday, January 25 as they face each other for the third T20I of the series at the Barsapara Stadium. India are currently leading 2-0 and another conquest on Sunday will aid them seal the five-match series.

India won the first match by 48 runs riding on a brilliant half-century from Abhishek Sharma. The second match saw Ishan Kishan and captain Suryakumar Yadav hit stunning fifties to aid India chase down a 209-run target in only 15.2 overs.

India aim to continue dominance

With the series directly preceding the T20 World Cup, both teams are aiming to fine tune their preparations for the tournament that starts February 7 and takes place across India and Sri Lanka.

India have once again flexed their favourites tag after two superb performances in the first two matches of this series. With the return to form of captain Suryakumar Yadav, the strong batting line-up has been further strengthened. While the bowling already has some of the biggest names in T20 cricket right now. Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy are among the supreme bowlers in the format and Arshdeep Singh too is not far behind.

The strength of the side reflects in the numbers as well. India have a win-loss record of 42-5 in 47 completed T20Is since the start of 2024.

New Zealand, meanwhile, have looked ordinary so far in the two games. They have shown flashes of brilliance but their batting and bowling have both failed to make much impact. Captain Mitchell Santner would want his men to at least put up a strong fight in the remaining three matches so that the truppe could enter the T20 World Cup with some confidence.

The BlackCaps will have to be clinical in all aspects of the competition to dish out a competitive performance against this high-riding Indian side.
