The Balance 2 was among the first Amazfit watches to introduce the BioCharge feature. The Readiness score available in earlier Amazfit models has metamorphosed into the superior BioCharge energy monitoring that factors in multiple parameters like how well-rested you are when you wake up, your exertion load throughout the day, fatigue and recovery and more to determine your energy levels at any given point in time. A excellent night’s sleep or a power nap adds to the BioCharge while any physical activity consumes it.

The Zepp app is arguably the leading in the business to crunch the data captured by the watch and provides you with necessary insights. This swim-proof watch also has Zepp Flow - a voice assistant that actually works and also a highly accurate GPS module for distance tracking. Given the degree of tracking available here, the battery life of the watch is impressive at close to two weeks. The Amazfit Balance 2 is priced at Rs 24,999 in India. Stay tuned for its in-depth review soon.

Sennheiser BTD700 Bluetooth dongle

The Sennheiser BTD700 is essentially a Bluetooth dongle but not like any other that sells for one fifth its cost. This one supports Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless codecs among others. So, if you are looking to get a superior audio output over Bluetooth from devices that do not support those or any high-end codec, this is the device for you. For instance, several laptops support SBC and AAC codecs at leading, and the audio you stream over Bluetooth can sound lacklustre even if you have great earphones or headphones. The BTD700 can change that.

Mind you, to get the finest out of this dongle, you will also need great quality wireless earphones or headphones that support the aforementioned aptX codecs. This tiny device plugs into a USB-C or USB-A port of a phone or a computer and does its job quietly. You do not need any drivers for it but you can use the Sennheiser app available across different platforms to further configure the device. Different LED colours indicate which codecs are being used, and it generally takes the finest available option on its own.

The goodness doesn’t end there. There are two more useful things this little thing can do. It supports Auracast, meaning you can plug it into a source device and broadcast the audio to multiple receivers like Bluetooth speakers and headphones. So you can have your personal radio station of sorts at home or office. Secondly, it has a surprisingly excellent Game Mode wherein the latency can drop as low as 30 ms. This is great for gamers wanting to use a wireless headset with their desktop or laptop without suffering audio delays.

I connected the Sennheiser BTD700 with my desktop PC and thoroughly enjoyed the results. It helped me cut the cable clutter one associates with wired headsets, and the output was highly enjoyable in music as well as in gaming. There was no perceptible lag in gaming or when watching video content on the PC. Priced at Rs 4,990, this is a great product for those looking for a superior wireless audio output from devices that typically cannot provide it, but only if you have or are willing to buy an earphone or headphone with support for aptX Adaptive or Lossless codecs.

OnePlus Buds 4 TWS earbuds

There weren’t too many significant releases in the wireless earphones category in India this year to warrant a separate article. However, the OnePlus Buds 4 was arguably the supreme all-round true wireless (TWS) earbuds we got our hands on. Mind you, not necessarily the top sounding audio product of the year but one that delivered admirably in terms of performance, features and value.

The OnePlus Buds 4 is an excellent product selling in the Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 range that  ticks a lot of boxes, be it sound quality, battery backup and even call quality. The earbuds have a snug fit and feel comfortable in the ears. You get smart touch controls that also include slide gestures to adjust the volume or skip tracks. The companion app lets you customise the sound output to your liking using a 6-band equaliser and other features like Golden Sound.

You get dual-drivers and dual-DAC that produce a loud and punchy sound output that is enjoyable across various genres of music. The ANC here transcends the segment with the Buds 4 delivering the finest noise cancellation performance among all OnePlus earphones, and that also includes the flagship Buds Pro 3. The Transparency mode here is also the supreme in the segment and feels natural. Not only does it keep you well aware of your surroundings but you can easily have a conversation without removing the buds from your ears.

The call quality on the OnePlus Buds 4 is one of the finest with excellent voice clarity and minimal background noise seeping through. The battery backup is quite robust too with the buds going on for 5 hours with moderate ANC enabled and over 8 hours with ANC disabled, both when using LHDC codec. The corresponding overall battery backup figures range between 20 to 33 hours with the charging case depending on your ANC usage. The figures are even higher if you use AAC codec. All that makes the OnePlus Buds 4 a solid product in this segment.

Asus ROG Flow Z13 laptop

In the summer of 2025, Asus released a bunch of powerful laptops suited for gaming among other things under their ROG umbrella. The most unique and impressive among the lot was the ROG Flow Z13. Calling it just a laptop would be doing it a bit of disservice. It is a 2-in-1 gaming machine that combines the power of a laptop and the portability of a tablet, and can be used as either. It has a 13.4-inch 2.5K ROG Nebula touchscreen display with 180 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms response time.

TCL 115X9****55 Max 115-inch smart TV

This super-sized smart TV hasn’t faded from our memory even after almost a year and hence deserves to be on this list. At 115 inches, the TCL 115X955 Max was the largest QD Mini LED TV in India at the time of launch and I don’t think anything bigger reached our shores for the rest of the year. Its value tag of Rs 29,99,990 is a relatively slight hurdle as compared to finding a room large enough for it, especially in cities like Mumbai. Even Rohit Sharma thought it was too large for his home during launch.
