Trump-Led ICE Faces Scrutiny After Minneapolis Shooting, Detention Deaths | Firstpost America

A federal immigration agent shot a man on January 14 in Minneapolis, city officials stated, urging the public to “remain calm” a week after agents shot and killed an American woman in the same city. US immigration enforcement is facing renewed scrutiny as fresh data shows a rising number of deaths inside ICE detention centres. ICE says at least four detainees have died in custody in the first ten days of 2026 alone. All were men aged 42 to 68. Detention numbers have surged to more than 68,000 nationwide, nearly double last year. Advocacy groups warn of systemic failures, citing reports that up to 95 per cent of deaths in ICE custody could have been prevented with proper medical care.   Firstpost America | Cary Johnston | War | Geopolitics | Global Economy | Firstpost | World News | Latest News | Global News | International News | Trending News #firstpostamerica #caryjohnston #war #geopolitics #economy #firstpost #worldnews #latestnews #globalnews #internationalnews #trendingnews Firstpost is an Indian headlines and media website.
