US forces seize sanctioned oil tanker in Caribbean linked to Venezuela – Firstpost

US forces in the Caribbean Sea have intercepted and seized sixth oil tanker under sanctions which the Trump administration says is connected to Venezuela. The move is part of a wider US effort to exert control over the South American nation’s oil resources.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem took to social media on Thursday to note that the vessel, named Motor Tanker Veronica, had previously traversed Venezuelan waters and was operating in violation of President Trump’s quarantine measures for sanctioned ships in the region.
