Jakarta – Landslides hit Pagerwojo District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java. A landslide about 100 meters long has completely blocked the main Tulungagung-Trenggalek route. The landslide took place on Friday afternoon (31/10/2025). Pagerwojo Police Chief, AKP Guruh Yudi Setiawan, explained that the landslide occurred in the Kradinan Village area, exactly around SDN 2 Kradinan, around 16.30 WIB. This place also experienced a small landslide the day before. “The location is at SDN 2 Kradinan which had a previous landslide. Coincidentally, it was a subsequent landslide because yesterday afternoon there was also a landslide,” Guruh said as reported by detikJatim, Saturday (1/11/2025). Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT According to Guruh, the landslide was caused by heavy rainfall in the past week which made the hillsides around the location unstable. The subsequent landslide this time completely blocked the road, with material thickness reaching 50-80 cm. “Yesterday afternoon, a small landslide blocked part of the road and it was cleared this afternoon. However, this afternoon the landslide was bigger and bigger again, so it completely blocked the road,” he explained. A joint team with local residents was deployed to open road access. Two-wheeled vehicles could pass slowly until evening, while four-wheeled vehicles were still stuck. “If the weather improves, the cleaning will continue tonight. We hope that car access can be opened soon because this route is the main milk distribution route from the livestock area in Pagerwojo,” he added. Alternatively, drivers can take another route, but the road is narrower. The police appealed to residents to remain cautious and not to force their way through if it is raining. Read more here.
