गौरतलब है कि दिल्ली में यमुना का अब तक का उच्चतम बाढ़ स्तर 208.66 मीटर दर्ज किया गया था, जो 13 जुलाई 2023 को रिकॉर्ड हुआ था. उस समय राजधानी के कई निचले इलाके डूब गए थे और हजारों लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर शिफ्ट करना पड़ा था.

गौरतलब है कि पिछले साल 11 जुलाई 2023 को हथिनी कुंड बैराज से 3.6 लाख क्यूसेक पानी छोड़ा गया था, जिसके बाद दिल्ली में यमुना उफान पर आ गई थी और कई निचले इलाके जलमग्न हो गए थे. मौजूदा स्थिति भी 2023 जैसे हालात बनने का संकेत दे रही है.
दिल्ली प्रशासन और आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग अलर्ट पर हैं. निचले इलाकों से लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर भेजने की तैयारी तेज कर दी गई है. बाढ़ नियंत्रण कक्ष को हाई अलर्ट पर रखा गया है और यमुना किनारे तैनात टीमों को चौकसी बढ़ाने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं.
