Jaylen Brown Trolled By Cs Announcer He’ll Be Flying To Turkey Soon!!!

Jaylen Brown‘s hair — or perhaps lack thereof — is the talk of the NBA right now … and even the Boston Celtics broadcast team got in on the jokes with a mid-game jab on Wednesday.
Brown bald balled out against the Cavs with a 30-point performance … and after one highlight in the second quarter, play-by-play guy Drew Carter made reference to the speculation he got caught painting his hairline.
Celtics announcer Drew Carter after Jaylen Brown made a layup:
“Went flying to the basket like he’ll be flying to Turkey at some point this season.” pic.twitter.com/a1aq1cztwG
“Brown, the spin and the deuce … went flying to the basket like he’ll be flying to Turkey at some point this season,” Carter said.
The line ended in laughter … and it seems like the star hooper would get a kick out of it, too — especially since he went on Twitch to playfully look at flights to the hair transplant destination the night before.
Brown actually addressed the matter after the win over the Cavs … confirming he did, in fact, try to call LeBron James for advice.
He said he took all the chatter in stride… but insisted he was more focused on getting wins after starting the season 0-3.

EXCLUSIVE: Marty Tudor has been working with the family estate of Shirley Temple and will have access to the rights of the child actress-turned Ghana and Czechoslovakia ambassador across streaming, film, stage and more. There are also two unpublished autobiographies by Temple which Tudor is helping the estate get published.
The life of Temple, who was discovered dancing in a theater lobby by Fox Film songwriter Jay Gorney, is largely an untapped IP; one prolific adaptation of her life was the 2001 Disney Channel movie, Child Star: The Shirley Temple Story. That was based on Temple’s autobiography of the same name and it starred Connie Britton.
Tudor is an industry vet, who managed the careers of Paula Abdul and Jon Cryer, and of late has been behind a series of Hologram concert shows starting in 2018 with performances by the late Maria Callas, Roy Orbison, and Whitney Houston. Hiss Orbison-Buddy Holly hologram tour was booked for 58 dates while Houston’s was a 36-date tour in Europe. Tudor’s credits include the Cryer movie Hiding Out, the 1995 TV movie Sahara, the 2004 TV special Carol Burnett: Let’s Bump Up the Lightsand the 2005 Disney TV movie, Once Upon a Mattress starring Burnett, Zooey Deschanel and Tracey Ullman.
Temple began her film career in 1931. The 1934 movie Bright Eyes put her on the map as a singing child star with her signature ditty “On the Good Ship Lollipop”. In 1935, she received a miniature Juvenile Oscar. She did segue to roles as a teenager, notably starring opposite Cary Grant in 1947’s The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer which won an Oscar for Sidney Sheldon’s adapted screenplay. Sheldon would go on to create the 1960s hit series I Dream of Jeannie and the 1979-early 1980s series Hart to Hart. Temple’s last movie was the 1949 comedy A Kiss for Corliss opposite David Niven. She hosted Shirley Temple’s Storybook from 1958-1961 before beginning her diplomatic career in 1969. Her friends included former FBI founder J. Edgar Hoover who gifted her a tear gas pen at the age of 20 to help protect her against any death threats. She also befriended Amelia Earhart; the duo reportedly known for their discussions about feminism, Hamlet and chewing gum. Temple as a child learned geography by tracing Earhart’s flights.
“There’s so much more to American icon Shirley Temple’s life that people aren’t aware of. She was the US delegate in the United Nations, a female Ambassador to Ghana and Czechslovakia, she was a breast cancer survivor, she fought sexism as the first female US Chief of Protocol. What appeals to me, as a father of a daughter, is that Shirley continues to be an amazing inspiration and role model for young girls. We see a lot of kid actors who go the wrong way, she did not. There’s an amazing human being here with a big story who gave back as opposed to a pop star in it for the glory,” Tudor tells Deadline.
The Temple Black family tells Deadline in a statement: “As the 100th anniversary of our Mom’s birthday approaches, we are so pleased at the idea of sharing with the world the lesser-known second half of her incredible life story. She often observed that ‘the Little Girl opened the door’, but then our Mom stepped through it, confident, courageous, authentic – all grown up.”

Police were investigating a triple shooting in a Little Village parking lot over the weekend that left one man dead Monday morning.
It happened about 3 pm Saturday in the 3100 block of South St. Louis Avenue when someone in a car pulled up and an occupant fired shots hitting three men, Chicago police said.
An unidentified 35-year-old man was shot multiple times in the torso and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital and was later pronounced dead, police said.
A 39-year-old man was shot in the back, and another man, 42, suffered gunshot wounds to the back, arms and hip, police said. Both were listed in fair condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Arnoldo Carrillo Jr. still has the black eye he received after he said six agents with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the US Marshals Service forced their way into his family’s home in Gary, Indiana, last week.
The entire incident unfolded about 6 am Oct. 23, when the 26-year-old saw flashlights through his window.
Soon after, he heard someone yell, ‘US Marshals! Open up!’”
“Not even a minute has gone by where they were just banging on the door, and then they used a ram to just force open the door,” he said.
According to Carrillo, the agents grabbed him and took him outside.
“They choked me very hard, and then they punched me in the eye, all while asking me why I was resisting when I wasn’t resisting at all,” he said.
They then knocked him to the ground and put him in handcuffs, he said.
In the end, federal agents took the entire family into custody: Arnoldo Carrillo Jr., his father, Rosario; his mother, Martha; his 24-year-old sister, Sarai, and their 14-year-old brother Eli. Arnoldo and Sarai were both released. Rosario, Martha and Eli are still in custody.
While Arnoldo and his siblings are all US citizens born and raised in Indiana, their parents do not have legal status. Martha, who has an expired visa, was sent to the ICE facility in west suburban Broadview, but has since been sent to a facility in El Paso, Texas. Rosario, who is undocumented, is being held by Hammond police in Indiana.
Arnoldo Carrillo said his parents did not have past criminal arrests.
The Carrillo family now faces four separate court cases related to the arrest, and are trying to raise the money to cover the legal fees.
ICE, the Marshals Service and the US Border Patrol did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
A mark under Arnoldo Carrillo’s face is visible as he stands inside a home in East Chicago, Ind., Wednesday. He says federal agents punched him after raiding his family’s home in Gary last week.
Traumatized and afraid for the future
The entire Carrillo family was taken to the Gary Police Department, and was separated soon after their arrests.
Hours went by before Arnoldo was told he could leave. His sister was sent to the Porter County Jail on allegations of interfering and being aggressive towards agents before being released. Their brother was sent to the Lake County Juvenile Detention Center in Crown Point, Indiana, for allegedly being aggressive with agents who feared the teen was going to grab a weapon.
“Supposedly he was going to grab a gun,” Arnoldo said, adding that the family has no guns in the home.
Sarai Carrillo said it was painful to see her family in handcuffs and separated from one another, and the experience left her traumatized and fearful about her family’s future. But she’s grateful for the support her family has received so far.
“Christians, Catholics, people from different cultural backgrounds, are coming together and supporting us, and it’s beautiful to see how much support and how much of a legacy my mom and dad have left for us in support of what’s going on,” Carrillo said.
Rosario and Martha Carrillo, both from Mexico, settled in Northwest Indiana after meeting in a church in California. Martha, 56, is a homemaker and Rosario, who has lived in the States for about 30 years, is self-employed and builds fences for residents and businesses in the area.
Rosario, 53, had recently come into contact with federal immigration agents when he was dropping his 14-year-old son off at school two weeks ago.
“Suddenly, a couple of ICE agent vehicles crashed into the front and back of his car,” Arnoldo said. “My dad, being scared of what was going on, decided to just flee the scene.”
According to a statement by the city of Gary, Gary police were notified about an incident between Rosario and ICE on Oct. 13.
The city of Gary is investigating if one of its police officers tipped off Homeland Security and ICE about Rosario’s immigration status.
Even though the incident left him afraid to go out, Arnoldo said his father continued to work to provide for his family.
Arnoldo described his father as “very loving, very quiet and minds his own business.” Martha Carrillo is “even calmer and even more loving and would not hurt anybody,” he said.
Sarai Carrillo, released from custody after federal agents raided her family’s home in Gary, said it is painful to see her family separated, and the experience has been traumatizing.
The Carrillo family started a GoFundMe pay to help pay for legal expenses. “The costs of hiring four separate lawyers to represent each family member are more than we can handle alone,” the fundraiser page reads.
Arnoldo said he wants no family to experience the pain of what happened to them.
“I don’t want anybody who is a US citizen, who are first-generation children who have parents who are immigrants to go through this,” Arnoldo said.
Arnoldo said his parents feared this day would come, but told their children to “be at peace with it” if ICE agents took them away.
“If the process is quick and speedy, and they just deport them, we will have families in Mexico that are also very loving and ready to receive them with open arms, and we will be at peace with it as well,” Arnoldo said.

Seeding the two biggest classes 1 through 32 was supposed to limit regular-season rematches in the early rounds. But these West Suburban Silver rivals are meeting for the second consecutive week, and at the same location. Lyons (7-2) won 34-26 last Friday behind a historic performance from running back EJ Kuhlman, who ran 43 times for a program-record 246 yards and three touchdowns. York (6-3), which is without starting quarterback Dominic Alfano (broken collarbone), had big nights from running back Henry Duda (23 carries, 236 yards, two touchdowns) and backup quarterback Zack Assaad (238 yards, touchdown).
Stevenson at No. 14 Lincoln-Way East, 7 pm Friday
For the first time since 2004, Lincoln-Way East (7-2) has lost back-to-back games. USC-bound quarterback Jonas Williams, who set the IHSA record for career passing touchdowns earlier this season, missed both those games due to injury. Edge rusher Jacob Alexander (Illinois) and receiver Blaise LaVista (Washington) both have been hurt as well, and the Griffins’ postseason hopes are largely pinned to their stars’ health. Stevenson (6-3) has a dynamic dual-threat quarterback in Aidan Crawley.
Oswego East at Bolingbrook, 7 pm Friday
It has been a bounce-back season for Bolingbrook (7-2), which won the Southwest Prairie West a year after finishing last in the conference and earned its first playoff berth since 2022. Tyson Ward and TJ Lewis both ran for two touchdowns in last week’s victory against Yorkville. It’s the second meeting of the season for Bolingbrook and Oswego East; the Raiders won 32-7 at home on Sept. 26. Oswego East (6-3) is also in the playoffs for the first time since 2022 and is one of five playoff qualifiers in the six-team conference.
Class 7A
Prospect at No. 9 Downers Grove North, 7 pm Friday
Mid-Suburban East runner-up Prospect (7-2) has a potent pitch-and-catch duo in junior quarterback Jackson Cacini (1,752 yards, 25 touchdowns) and Harvard commit Nathan Cichy (831 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns). Ditto for Downers Grove North (7-2), which looks to Minnesota-bound quarterback Owen Lansu and Illinois-bound tight end Will Vala. The Trojans tied Lyons and York for second in the rugged West Suburban Silver, which produced five playoff qualifiers.
Class 5A
No. 25 St. Francis vs. Morgan Park 1 pm Saturday at Gately Stadium
Nine weeks after coming to Gately Stadium and escaping with a 38-34 victory against Kenwood, St. Francis (6-3) returns to the city to face another Public League power. The Spartans are coming off a 42-16 loss to three-time defending Class 5A champion Nazareth. Quarterback Brock Phillip has two productive receiving options in Zach Washington (Michigan State) and Dario Milivojevic (Southern Illinois). Morgan Park (6-3) faces the Public League’s top player, two-way Illinois recruit Nasir Rankin. Sophomore quarterback Ronald Smith Jr. has been improving throughout the season.
It wasn’t so long ago that Sandy Baker only dreamed of what she has now, a home she owns in Princeton where she lives comfortably with her daughter, son-in-law and grandbaby.
“I was working two and three jobs at a time, you know, part-time jobs, anything I could do. I was even scrubbing people’s floors for $10 an hour just to make ends meet,” said Baker.
It was 2009.
After leaving an abusive marriage, Baker and her 16-year-old daughter were suddenly homeless.
“We were couch surfing and we were staying with friends and family, just anybody. Sometimes we would stay in long-term hotels. Eventually, we were in a tent in a state park, Frisco area, Little Elm area, hidden cove, stayed in a park there and paid $10 a day for the privilege to sleep in a tent in August, how awful was that, right?” she said.
As a board member for Family Promise Collin County, Baker shares how that program and resources like SNAP benefits helped her and her daughter work their way from a homeless shelter to their own apartment.
“It’s a tool, right? But for us, it actually saved our lives,” said Baker.
Now, as more than 700,000 North Texans prepare for their benefits to expire Saturday, she worries they’ll find themselves in the situation she did before she had a permanent address.
“Prior to SNAP benefits, our budget for food was $12 every two weeks for two people. That equals .85 cents a day for two people, so we had to get really creative. We went three, four, five times a week to Costco and Sams to eat the samples there. That was our food,” she said.
“I think it’s going to be pretty tough. It’s going to be pretty tough, especially with the cost of food rising,” said LaVeeta Hamilton.
Hamilton is Family Promise’s executive director. She worries most for the nine families that have graduated from the homeless shelter this year and are in the process of rebuilding their lives.
“I’m not even thinking about the holidays. Right? You have to think about that child who’s coming home from school now, and if they are experiencing any medical issues, if they are diabetic, they can’t get the healthy snacks that they need now, because mom and dad can’t afford this food,” she said.
Nearby, Community Lifeline food pantry told NBC5 it’s working to increase shipments of food by Monday through grocery store partners, saying it’s already seen an influx of people.
Advocates like Baker and Hamilton say community support will be crucial.
“It’s so much more prevalent than people want to know,” said Baker.
Hungry? In need of food?
If you’re hungry and need nutritious, free food, you can call 2-1-1 for the latest information on the SNAP program and find alternative food resources from area food banks, food pantries and other community resources.
This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Zach Negin, 46, owner of Tabula Rasa Bar in Los Angeles. The following has been edited for length and clarity.
I own a neighborhood bar in Los Angeles, where the bulk of what we sell is wine. There weren’t many wine bars in Los Angeles when we opened nine years ago.
When we first opened, we had to establish ourselves, get to know everybody, be good stewards of the neighborhood, and gain the trust of our customers.
They say COVID happened. We were shut down, and when we finally reopened fully a year and a half later, it felt like starting over again.
Now, it feels like I’m starting over yet again. Tariffs have had an effect on the industry. We like to have wines from a variety of places because it’s very location-dependent. That’s the story, the history, and the romance of it. When you have less access to those things because they’re more expensive, it limits our ability to have a variety of products.
Because I have little kids, I want to be able to work on the business and not be behind the bar as much. That’s changing again, which is unfortunate for me and for my family. It’s fine. It’s what I need to do. It’s my business.
Running a business feels harder than it’s been in the past — in a different way.
The last time there was a tariff war like this was the last time Trump was president
There was some wiggle room, though: Many wines of at least 14% alcohol by volume were not tariffed. At that time, a number of the distributors we work with — almost exclusively small businesses, and the winemakers they work with are often solo winemakers — and importers said, OK, well, we’re just going to kind of split this cost. The producer’s going to take a hit, the distributor’s going to take a hit, and then we’re going to have to raise prices a little bit.
This year, it’s been these very rapid tariffs, and nobody really knows if they’re going to stay. A number of distributors had wine that was already here and not subject to tariffs. The new stuff was, so we get emails saying, We’re going to have to raise our prices.
That means wines that we used to be able to buy at a certain price are now two to five dollars more a bottle, or up to 30% more. And that may put them in a different price range for us in terms of what we can turn around and sell them for.

There are fewer affordable options that fit within the niche of the types of wines that we like to buy: small production, low intervention, and good farming.
One wine we buy, for instance, increased by $1.50 a bottle, from $23 to $24.50. That means we have also had to raise the price we sell it for — from $81 to $86 per bottle. We’re not just rebuying the wines when they increase in price due to tariffs. We find less expensive options as well as lower our margins on many of the wines we serve.
Our wines come from all over the world, including right in Los Angeles and other parts of the US. We haven’t necessarily been buying more domestically because that was already more expensive due to labor and land costs. Also, a lot of labels, corks, and glasses come from all different places. We’re not just talking about crushed grapes that have fermented.
The only thing coming down is sales
Our sales have dropped 26% since March, which is quite significant. I don’t attribute 100% of that to tariffs, but that’s having an effect. The overall economy and the cost of things are factors. This is why we’re making some business changes.
Prices everywhere are higher, so people are going out less. The entertainment industry in Los Angeles has been hit pretty hard. They’re working less frequently or not at all.
With lots of things being more expensive, we’re also trying to lower our prices at the same time to meet our consumers instead of just going up and up and up. This is very tough in Southern California because labor is going up, rent is going up, insurance is going up, cost of goods is going up.
To lower our prices, we need to find different products of similar quality because what we used to buy is now more expensive. So our prices have gone up as the tariffs have gone up. But in an effort not to just have everything continue that way, I have been focused on trying to find lower price point items that we can still feel good about serving, so that our overall price point can be lower. However, we’re making less money. So in that case, we’re taking the hit on that, not marking up the same.
We’re still keeping prices as low as possible, including always having a $9 glass of wine and $6 draft beer at happy hour.
We are focused on not laying anybody off
We’ve changed in and out times a little bit to shorten the hours of a shift. The bulk of our team’s wages in the bar come from gratuities and tips.
When people might call out or go on vacation, we just aren’t filling those shifts on that given night. We might just run a little lean, or I might come in for a couple of hours, or my manager will work more service.
It’s a new thing that we’ve been talking about for a little bit, and looking at how to make these adjustments without severely affecting anyone’s income. I think they’re all on board and understand why we’re doing it and that we’re trying to do this in a way that keeps their best interests in mind.
We’re just trying to stay ahead of it. We don’t want to get caught in a place where we are bleeding money and then don’t have money for payroll or to pay our vendors.
I feel pretty confident that we can make it through, but it might require some serious changes
It may require changes that I don’t want to make, which would be having to lay off staff, and I would be the person filling in. I’m aware that it could get to that place, but I don’t plan for it, and I don’t expect it.
What we’ve done now is the things that are within our control, which is to be able to focus on hospitality and service and wine education for our team so that we can continue to be the place that people want to come to because people are still going to go out and are still going to spend money, but why do they decide to come to our place tonight versus somewhere else? That’s always the question for me.
As a small-business owner, you don’t get to complain about tariffs or other things. You just have to deal with them. We don’t have the ability to change that. There are a few small groups that are helping the lobby.
We just have to continue on. And if governments whose decisions affect our business say, OK, this is how much it’s going to cost nowthen we just have to deal with it. There’s not much we can do. I don’t complain about that. I signed up for this, and I love it. I would love to have more small businesses thrive. That’s ultimately what I’d like to see.
