‘The public will learn a lesson for those who oppose SIR in 2027’, Keshav Maurya’s reply to the opposition leaders – keshav prasad maurya said the public will learn a lesson for mr protesters in 2027 elections

Jagran Correspondent, Kanpur. State Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said on Sunday that the public will teach those who oppose SIR a lesson in 2027. He said that if an infiltrator somehow managed to get his name in the voter’s list, then it would be good if the name of our 18-year-old new voter is included in it by excluding his name. He came to legislative councilor Arun Pathak’s house in Saket Nagar to express his condolences after the demise of his brother. He also attended the marriage ceremony of CSJMU Vice-Chancellor Vinay Pathak and former BJP state president Laxmikant Vajpayee in the city. Speaking to journalists, he said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is fully involved in the campaign. Some people try to spoil the atmosphere unnecessarily. On the statement of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind president Maulana Mohammad Asad Madani, he said that his shop will always function, it is not so. Vande Mataram is the national mantra and the mere utterance of it gives a different energy. It was because of its echo that the British left India and all our freedom fighters contributed to it. He declined to comment further on Madani.

50 US tariff on copper puts city’s economy on ‘ventilator’, future of artisans in darkness – moradabad export crisis 50 per cent tariff ruins copperware christmas mass season 5 lakhartisans alive

Updated: Sun, 30 Nov 2025 02:37 (IST) The economy of Brass City is in crisis due to US tariffs. Due to the imposition of 50% tariff, exports were affected and the future of artisans became dark. Exporters and artisans are demanding government intervention to talk to the US government to lower the tariffs and save the copper industry. Jagran Correspondent, Moradabad. Moradabad’s export industry has been affected after America imposed 50 percent tariff on Indian copper handicraft products. The city’s identity, the Brass City, is not only facing the brunt of decline in business this time, but has also suffered losses during major festive seasons like Christmas. The years of hard work and finished products of many exporters are stuck in warehouses. Remove Ads Read Only News August to November was usually the busiest period for Moradabad’s factories. In which large orders of Christmas decoration items, candle stands, lamps, silver-plated decorative items and brassware began to be supplied to America and European countries in this period. In previous years, artisans had to work double shifts this season, but after the tariffs were implemented, foreign buyers stopped orders. Even among the orders placed, many were taken in lesser quantities with reconditions, due to which the production units could not function even at half capacity. According to exporters, the tariff increase has led to increased prices and made Indian products uncompetitive in the US market. The prices of products from countries like China and Vietnam are already low, so after the imposition of tariff, Indian copperware is no longer the first choice of buyers. Many exporters have prepared the goods, but American buyers have delayed delivery or pressured to reduce the price citing increase in customs duties. This crisis hit the artisans the hardest. The number of workers has been reduced in many workshops. Laborers who depended on daily wages are now looking for other jobs. Dozens of units only open for a limited number of days due to inability to cover production costs. Many major exporters of the city have demanded relief package and special intervention from the central government. He says that if timely financial and policy-based assistance is not provided, the traditional handicraft industry of Moradabad will not be able to stand for long. Local industry organizations also say that Moradabad products are characterized by design, craftsmanship and handmade quality, which is unlike any machine-made product. In such a situation, the government should intensify efforts to reduce tariffs by conducting trade talks at the international level. Exporters are now trying to find markets in Europe, Central Asia and the Gulf countries, but experts say it takes time to develop new markets. While the US market is as large and profitable as it is, no other market can match it. Currently, the export industry of Moradabad is going through an uncertain phase. Rates, falling demand and ready inventory have combined to make this season a total waste. Exporters do not have orders for Christmas. We have made every effort by arranging exhibitions abroad. In this, small exporters will get relief by getting income tax exemption up to Rs 5 crore. It is not just a matter of business but a struggle for the existence of more than five lakh artisan families. – Awadhesh Aggarwal, Chief Convenor EPCH US tariff has broken the back of Moradabad’s industry. Orders have stopped, factories are at a standstill and artisans are on the verge of unemployment. In such an environment, if the central or state government provides 10 percent of the average export turnover of the last three years as Samman Nidhi, then it will be the lifeline to bring back the breath of this city. – JP Singh, Chairman Yes Also Read – Injury also came before duty: Moradabad’s BLA Omveer completed 100% SIR feeding.

The interesting incident involves Prime Minister Modi, showing his commitment to the Constitution.

New Delhi, November 26 (IANS). Every year, 26 November is celebrated as ‘Constitution Day’ in the country. On Wednesday, on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Constitution of India, many leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wished the countrymen through social media. The tradition of celebrating ‘Constitution Day’ started in the year 2015 after the arrival of the Narendra Modi government at the centre. How active and vigilant PM Modi was towards the Constitution was seen during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. An anecdote related to Prime Minister Modi was shared on the social media platform ‘X’ called ‘Modi Archive’, in which it was told how since the early days he has been following the ideals of the creator of the Constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, follows. It was told in the post that in 2010, India celebrated the 60th anniversary of its Constitution. At that time Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He led the ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra’, which was a unique and memorable tribute to the Constitution. Along with this, some old photos related to this visit of PM Modi were also shared in the post. ‘Modi archive’ In honor of the Constitution, its copy has been placed atop a decorated elephant. A large replica was placed in a specially designed howda (a traditional hall) in which Narendra Modi, state ministers and about 15,000 people walked with the elephant. The post further informed that what made this procession even more interesting was its historical inspiration. It was inspired by the age-old tradition during the reign of King Siddharaja in Patan, when Acharya Hemchandra’s Sanskrit grammar book was carried on the streets on an elephant. The then Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra’ was an attempt in the same spirit to give the Constitution its rightful place in the collective consciousness of India. It was said in the ‘Modi Archive’ post that ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra’ was an event just like the way we celebrate ‘Constitution Day’ today, it was not just a formal event. It was a call to action. Narendra Modi’s objective was clear, “to raise awareness of the immense importance of the Constitution, to educate citizens about its core values, and to reaffirm the country’s commitment to its principles.” –IANS SK/ABM Share this story Tags

Bachchan of ‘Madhushala’: A tenement house and a man who desperately wants to ‘move on’, who could do nothing…

Bachchan of ‘Madhushala’: A tenement house and a man who desperately wants to ‘move on’, who could do nothing…

New Delhi, November 26 (IANS). Everyone is a fan of the attitude and philosophy of Harivansh Rai ‘Bachchan’ in Hindi poetry. Through poetry he made the world aware of the truth of life along with the sensibilities. His introduction is just that, “Mitti ka tan, masti ka mind, kshanbhar jeevan mera parichay.” Harivansh Rai Bachchan was born on 27 November 1907 in Allahabad (now Prayagraj). His family members liked to call him ‘Bachchan’. In ‘Madhushala’ he wrote about his own upbringing, “I am a Kayastha family, my ancestors shaped me so much, seventy five percent of my blood is in my body, I have the ancestral rights, the Madhushala was sold in the courtyard of the tavern, by the hands of my grandfathers and great grandfathers.” In fact, with his poems and writings, he became a household name all over the world in a short span of time. While living in Allahabad, human sensibilities began to appear in his writings. ‘Bachchan’, who spent more than half of his life in a rented house, expressed the problems of the people in his own words. After graduating from Allahabad University in 1929, he took admission in MA, but left his studies midway due to the non-cooperation movement of 1930. After doing MA in 1938, he went to Cambridge. He married Shyama during his studies but both stayed together only for some time. After Shyama’s death, ‘Bachchan’ started feeling sad. When Shyama’s health was bad, he wrote a poem, “Raat half puller meri hatheli, ek ungli se likha tha pyaar tumne.” This poem brought ‘Bachchan’ a lot of fame. Madhushala also did not lag behind to increase his popularity. On January 24, 1942, Harivansh Rai ‘Bachchan’ attacked Suri for the second time. ‘Bachchan’ was a lecturer in English at Allahabad University from 1941-1952 and was also associated with All India Radio. He also worked as a Hindi expert in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. English expert Harivansh Rai ‘Bachchan’ had an amazing command over Hindi. It is said that he always included Shyama’s death and early marriage in his poetry. He wrote: “What will be the occasion of the past, my mind will repent all my life, I will have to die, I could not die when I had to die, I could do nothing in life.” His writings ‘Kya Bhooloon Kya Yaad Karoon’, ‘Need Ka Nirman Phir’, ‘Basare Se Door’ and ‘Dashdwar Se Sopan Tak’ have excellent writing. Harivansh Rai ‘Bachchan’ achieved his greatest fame in 1935, when ‘Madhushala’ came. He was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 1966. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1968 and the Padma Bhushan in 1976. He breathed his last on 18 January 2003 in Mumbai. His son Amitabh Bachchan is a Bollywood megastar. Harivansh Rai ‘Bachchan’ continued till his death to give messages to the youth through poems and developed a new method of love poetry. It is said that Mahatma Gandhi himself asked him why he was bent on making people drunk through ‘Madhushala’? When Mahatma Gandhi read ‘Madhushala’, his fear ended. Even to give a message to the depressed youth, Harivansh Rai wrote in a poem: “There was a star in life, I believe he was very dear, if he drowned, he drowned, look at the joy of amber, how many of his stars are broken, how many of his loved ones are left behind, those who are left behind are found again, but speaking on a broken bygonne are stars.” Through this, Harivansh Rai ‘Bachchan’ spread a new consciousness in the society. A deep message was given to the society in ‘Madhushala’. Some of the lines of ‘Madhushala’ are: “Muslims and Hindus are two, one, but their cup, one, but, their tavern, one, but their situation, both remain one until they go to the mosque or temple, the mosque, temple increases enmity, the tavern brings peace.” Referring to the reality of life in the poem ‘Is Paar, Ons Paar’, he wrote: “I go today, you come tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, all friends, the world.” She kept crying, whoever has to go, goes. My thoughts would waver because of the waves on the shore itself. When I come alone, I don’t know what will happen. On this side, dear Madhu, you are there, who knows what will happen on the other side.” –IANS ABM/VC
