Tere Ishk Mein Audience Review A viewer wrote: “#TereIshkMein first half – solid performance by @dhanushkraja as an angry young Tamilian with a traumatic past. @kritisanon is equally strong as the career-driven Mukti, daughter of a bureaucrat. The social divide between the two creates a powerful conflict. The film works because of their dialogues. @aanandlrai once again delivers with compelling characters, and @arrahman remains the soul of the story.” Another user commented, “Tere Ishk Mein is a gripping, high-emotion love drama that marries intensity with solid storytelling. It’s driven by Dhanush’s exceptional performance – raw, fiery and deeply moving – while Kriti Sanon brings grace, sadness and strength to every frame. Their chemistry is electric and gives the film its strongest heartbeat.” A third user said, “#TereIshkMein: A good first half followed by an above average second half 🤝. Despite some dips post interval, the film has many standout moments and is a wholesome entertainer 🫶❤️. A WINNER load for #Dhanush in Bollywood 🏆.” About Tere Ishk Mein The film charts the story of Mukti (Kriti Sanon), a young woman who falls in love with the fierce and erratic rule breaker Shankar (Dhanush). But circumstances tear them apart before their romance can fully blossom. Unable to bear the grief, Shankar becomes vengeful – vowing to burn “all of Delhi” to ashes. Their intense and unwavering love story forms the heart of the film. Produced by T-Series and Color Yellow Productions, Tere Ishk Mein is directed by Aanand L Rai. The soundtrack is composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil.

Ride-hailing apps must have 15% women drivers in 6 months, says Rajasthan HC; ask for the option to select female drivers

The Rajasthan High Court has directed the state government to promote app-based ride-hailing services to ensure that at least 15% of their drivers are women within six months, according to a report by PTI. It also ordered to raise the target to 25% in the next two to three years. The court order also said that platforms should offer women passengers the option to select a female driver as their primary preference. The directions were issued as part of a detailed 35-point order by Justice Ravi Chirania, who described cybercrime as an “unstoppable and fast-rising menace” and called for urgent structural reforms in Rajasthan’s cyber policing framework, the report said. Cracking down on cybercrime The court also directed the government to set up a Rajasthan Cybercrime Control Centre, in line with the Union government’s Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center (I4C). It was noted that despite the introduction of the post of Director General, Cybercrimes in 2024, the state “does not yet have an adequate system” to address digital offences. The order was issued during the hearing of bail pleas for two Gujarat residents accused of impersonating law enforcers and allegedly defrauding an elderly couple of ₹2.02 crore. Both men, who are currently in the Jodhpur Central Jail, have been denied bail. In addition, the Supreme Court directed telecom authorities to carry out thorough verification before issuing a fourth SIM card to an individual. It urged the government to keep a close watch on dead or inactive bank accounts and to require physical KYC verification for these accounts. Banks and financial institutions are instructed to suspend or deny internet banking services on accounts flagged as suspicious or those with annual transactions below ₹50,000 for the past three years. The court further ordered that all gig workers operating in Rajasthan should register with the office of the Director General, Cyber Crimes. From 1 February next year, gig workers will have to wear a uniform or adhere to a dress code and carry a QR-coded ID card to show on request. Registration with the state transport department will become mandatory for gig workers, who will now be required to drive vehicles with commercial number plates. Meanwhile, the sale and purchase of second-hand digital devices will be subject to stricter controls, while schools have been instructed to implement a clear SOP regulating mobile phone use for students up to class nine or those under 16 years of age. Eddy Soeparno called the disasters in Aceh and Sumatra a climate crisis alarm

Jakarta – Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian National Assembly, Eddy Soeparno, assesses that the series of disasters in Aceh and a number of areas in Sumatra is a clear sign that Indonesia is facing a climate and environmental crisis. Eddy said the significant increase in temperature in several major cities and changes in erratic weather patterns are strong indicators of climate change. “There has been an increase in temperatures everywhere. We no longer know when to expect rain or dry season,” Eddy said after attending the 2025 Conference on Indonesian Foreign Policy (CIFP) at the Diplomacy Clinic Room, The Kasablanka, Jakarta, in a written statement, Sunday (30/11/2025). Furthermore, Eddy gave an example, a number of recent disasters, ranging from floods, heavy rains in the dry season, to landslides in Central Java and flash floods in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra, show how serious the climate crisis is being faced by Indonesia. Scroll to continue content “This is part of the climate crisis we are facing, but it is also a consequence of our behavior that does not respect the environment. Especially deforestation and massive sand mining,” he said. He also highlighted the massive land conversion for housing and industrial areas which destroys environmental balance. According to him, this phenomenon should be an alarm so that the government and society immediately make improvements. On this occasion, Eddy appreciated the attitude of President Prabowo Subianto, who he said would take firm action against perpetrators of environmental destruction, from illegal loggers to companies or individuals polluting land and water. “This alarm must be responded to quickly so that we can prevent future disasters,” he said. Apart from that, in response to the viral outbreak of logs being swept away by flash floods in several areas in Sumatra, which gave rise to allegations of illegal logging practices, Eddy stressed the importance of strong and transparent law enforcement. Eddy therefore hopes that the government will move quickly to investigate the source of the wood so that forest destruction does not occur again and people no longer become victims of disasters that could have been prevented. “The existence of logs that are clearly visible before our eyes must be investigated. If the source is legal, it can be seen from the permit. But if it is outside the legal channels, there must be strong and consistent law enforcement so that there is a deterrent effect,” he emphasized. (acn/ega)

Understand the difference between natural disasters and ecological disasters

Understand the difference between natural disasters and ecological disasters

Jakarta – A number of regions in Indonesia often face different types of disasters, ranging from floods, landslides, earthquakes to forest fires. However, in the context of mitigation and response, it is important to understand the difference between natural disasters and ecological disasters. Even though both disasters cause damage, there are fundamental differences in the main triggering factors for these events. Knowing these differences can help with more appropriate treatment efforts and prevention strategies. PAGE TO CONTINUE CONTENT Definition of Disaster According to the Law In general, what is called a disaster is an event or series of events that threaten and disrupt people’s lives and livelihoods. With reference to Act (UU) Number 24 of 2007 on Disaster Management, this threat is caused by three main factors, namely natural factors, non-natural factors and human factors. Based on these triggers, disasters are then classified into three types: natural disasters, non-natural disasters and social disasters. Reported on the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) page, this definition specifically describes the types of disasters caused by natural and non-natural causes. Natural disasters are caused by events or a series of events that originate from nature itself, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, droughts, hurricanes and landslides. Meanwhile, non-natural disasters are caused by events or a series of non-natural events that may include technological failure, modernization failure, epidemics and even disease outbreaks. Natural Disasters: Caused by Nature As the name suggests, natural disasters are calamities caused by nature, including earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, droughts, hurricanes and landslides. This disaster is rooted in the dynamics of the earth’s geology, hydrology or meteorology. This event occurs as a result of the interaction or release of energy in natural systems. According to BNPB, the main characteristic of natural disasters is that their triggers arise purely from natural processes and are beyond human control. Examples include earthquakes that occur due to the movement of tectonic plates, volcanic eruptions due to magma activity in the bowels of the Earth, and tsunamis caused by sudden shifts in the ocean floor. Even if humans cannot prevent these natural processes, mitigation and risk reduction can be carried out to minimize the impacts. Ecological disasters: Damage to ecological systems Although officially categorized as natural disasters (such as floods and droughts), the phenomenon of ecological disasters refers to events that damage the environmental balance or ecological system, namely the reciprocal relationship between living things and the natural (conditions) that surround them (the environment). These disasters often have elements of intervention or are the result of human activities. Ecological disasters occur when the ecological system or the reciprocal relationship between living things and their environment is greatly disrupted. The most obvious examples of ecological disasters are large floods that occur as a result of damage to watersheds due to deforestation, or deliberate forest and peatland fires for land clearing. Although floods and fires are natural events, their escalation and impact become ecological disasters because they are caused by damage to forests and spatial planning caused by human factors. In this context, preventing ecological disasters requires holistic management, namely by improving environmental management and accelerating climate action to restore ecosystem balance. (wia/idn)
