Tensions are mounting over the condition of Imran Khan in Adiala Jail! After a meeting with Munir, no information for 3 weeks, people took to the streets

The former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan’s family and relatives have not been allowed to meet him for three weeks, and no information is available about him. The family and supporters fear that army chief Asim Munir has done something wrong to them in prison. Therefore, family members are prevented from meeting him. There is no news from Imran Khan even after more than 21 days have passed. This created a political storm in Pakistan over its deteriorating condition. Supporters took to the streets. Khan, who was detained in Adiala jail, has been without any contact for three weeks. His sisters are not allowed to meet him, due to which hundreds of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers came out on the streets. Media outlets such as the Afghanistan Times spread rumors of Khan’s assassination, but the Pakistani government dismissed them as “false”. According to PTI, Khan has been in jail since August 2023 on various corruption charges. He has been held in solitary confinement for the past three weeks, where he is not allowed to meet his family, lawyers or doctors. Despite the court order, the prison administration does not allow his family to enter. Khan’s sisters held a sit-in outside the jail. Imran Khan’s sisters, Alima Khan, Nooreen Niazi and Dr. Uzma Khan, staged a 10-hour sit-in outside the jail on November 25. The police dragged him, charged and arrested him. Alima said: “This is inhumane. Our only crime was to meet our brother.” A sister was wounded, while female lawyers were also beaten. The video circulating on social media showed that at 12:30 in the night, the police used water cannons, turned off the lights and dropped the activist. PTI Suspects Political Conspiracy Gauhar Ali Khan, a leader of Imran Khan’s party, PTI, called it an “attempt at political assassination”. Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas warned: “Do not test our patience or there will be a revolution.” The jail superintendent told the Islamabad High Court that Khan’s account was not operated from inside the jail, but the rumors persisted. At midnight on 25–26 November, thousands of supporters gathered outside the prison and raised slogans “Free Imran Khan” and “Remove Asim Munir”. Gen Z (youth) activists marched in cities. The government deployed more security forces, but the strike ended after talks. Khan’s sisters wrote a letter to Punjab Police Chief Usman Anwar demanding an “impartial inquiry” and calling it “organized violence”. Allegations against Asim Munir PTI claims that Army Chief General Asim Munir and the Shahbaz Sharif government want to silence Khan because his words raise questions about the economic crisis and corruption. Citing the United Nations’ Nelson Mandela Principles, PTI described it as “torture”. Khan had earlier sent a message from prison, “Be it freedom or death, there is no middle ground.” This incident further heats up Pakistani politics. PTI’s support base is increasing amid economic recession, inflation and military intervention. Experts say if Khan is allowed to meet his family immediately, the tension could be eased. Currently, tensions are high outside the prison.

National Herald case: EOW lodges FIR against Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, alleges criminal conspiracy

National Herald case: EOW lodges FIR against Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, alleges criminal conspiracy

New Delhi, November 30 (IANS). The National Herald case once again created a political uproar. The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has registered a fresh FIR against senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi. Serious allegations such as criminal conspiracy, fraud and treason were made therein. A total of nine accused have been named under FIR number 0124/2025, which includes six individuals and three companies. The action is based on a complaint from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) dated October 3, 2025, in which a direction was given to register a scheduled offense under Section 66(2) of the PMLA. A conspiracy was hatched to fraudulently take over the properties of the Congress-linked Associated Journals Limited (AJL) company worth around Rs 2,000 crore. AJL is the publishing company of the National Herald newspaper, which was closed in 2008 due to financial crisis. At that time, AJL had an outstanding interest-free loan of Rs 90.21 crore from the All India Congress Committee (AICC). It is alleged that this loan was bought for just Rs 50 lakh by a company called Young Indian Private Limited, which was established in 2010. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi jointly hold 76 percent stake in Young Indian, making them its beneficial owners. The ED probe report detailed that Young Indian was created as a ‘special purpose vehicle’, which became a medium to divert public money for private interests. AJL converted its outstanding loan into 9.02 crore shares of Rs 10 mark each, thus defrauding AICC donors and shareholders. Apart from this, Kolkata’s alleged shell company Dotex Merchandise Private Limited transferred Rs 1 crore to Young Indian, who is believed to be part of the conspiracy. On April 9, 2025, the ED filed a charge sheet in the Rouselaan court, alleging money laundering under sections 3 and 4. The court reserved its decision on taking notice for now. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Suman Dubey, Sam Pitroda and Sunil Bhandari were accused in the FIR. Apart from this, FIR has also been registered against three companies – Young Indian, Dotex Merchandise Private Limited and Associated Journals Limited. Apart from this, the names of former Congress leaders Motilal Vohra and Oscar Fernandes also came up in the investigation, but due to their death they are no longer accused. –IANS SCH/VC Share this story Tags

“Whatever eye you show, everyone will be treated,” JDU spokesperson said about Maulana Madani’s controversial statement.

“Whatever eye you show, everyone will be treated,” JDU spokesperson said about Maulana Madani’s controversial statement.

Patna, November 30 (IANS). Bihar JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar has reacted to the controversial statement of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Mahmood Madani on ‘Jihad’. He said that when there is a judiciary in the country, then who can raise an eye? Everyone who lifts his eyes, all these will be healed. Speaking to IANS on Sunday, JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, “The word Jihad may be in his (Mahmood Madani’s) dictionary, but every religious group in this country has a sense of respect for the Constitution. There is an executive, a legislature and a judiciary in the country, whoever will commit a crime because it is a system to oppress the other in the place.” Neeraj Kumar further said, “They should know why Mahmood Madani said this, but there is a judiciary in the country for every crime. If there is a judiciary in the country, then who can raise an eye.” JDU spokesperson also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme. He said, “Today is the 128th episode of the show ‘Mann Ki Baat’. The show covers fundamental issues within the country, stories of successes, training the new generation and communicating with them, communicating about the problems of the common people and their solutions, this is the special work style of Prime Minister Modi.” Appealing to the public, he said that people should consider the words of Prime Minister Modi during the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program and play their role in shaping the future of the country. At the all-party meeting before the start of the winter session of Parliament, Neeraj Kumar said that this is part of the parliamentary tradition. Importantly, why is the opposition persisting in ‘hit and run’ position? Responding to the opposition on the issue of SIR, Neeraj Kumar said that when SIR was done in his time, he did not find it unconstitutional. Today, when the public has given mandate on an issue like SIR, the opposition has not assimilated the mandate of the public. He said, “The back of politics has been broken due to losing and losing, but the pain of it has not disappeared. It is a matter of misfortune. However, the opposition is expected to take a positive attitude.” On the Election Commission’s decision to increase the salary of CAAs, JDU spokesperson said: “The Election Commission is a constitutional body and such decisions are within its jurisdiction. CAAs play an important role in the entire election process, right from the electoral roll. The truth is that those who are criticizing do not even have agents at booth level at the polling stations.” –IANS DCH/
